I’m writing this review from the table as I watch my brave husband try to choke down his meal. The food is bland, cold and mostly inedible. I ordered the “smoked” turkey. What I received can only be described as a block of processed deli turkey that was chopped up and heated to barely luke warm. The macaroni and cheese has the consistency of gritty gravy. Please don’t get me started on the taste. The brisket was almost okay, dry as heck. The pork somehow tastes like chicken so I guess it’s okay if that’s what you’re into? Cornbread was great though and the girl who waited on us was nice… so I guess there’s that.

I had the two-meat combo with brisket and smoked turkey. They have a sauce bar with different types of sauces. I enjoyed the variety. The server was friendly; the restaurant was clean, and the bathroom was spotless. I thought the grape juice was a great addition. It almost tastes like muscadine juice.

Went here for the first time today. When I first got to the register I asked the gentleman to run down the menu with me and see if they had any specials. He more than happily help me with the menu and explained everything in detail. He mentioned the special of the day and the special sides of the day. I asked him what his favorite was and his top was the brisket, so I ordered the brisket. He was on point with his explanation and his opinion of the brisket and it was delicious.

I got the turkey sandwich with mac and cheese and hush puppies. The turkey sandwich was good, but there was nothing on it, just a bun. The hash browns were good. The mac and cheese was average. The meal cost me over 12 dollars. I understand inflation, but maybe some lettuce and a bit of mayo on the sandwich and maybe a bit more cheese on the mac and cheese would have been nice. I might go back one day and try the brisket, I’m not sure.

Excellent size of a restaurant especially a BBQ style place. Decent amount of food for the price. Normally a place that has sweet potato fries they are limited but at willie jewells gave more than I expected!

The waitress was nice. They were sanitizing with steaming hot water which was great. Unfortunately the meat was dry and flavorless. I wish I could post the video of how dry the brisket and pork was. You can see it in the picture though. The sausage was great and I loved the choice in sauces. Beans weren’t my favorite but weren’t nasty, just not my taste. The portion for the price was great.
