Just a 10 minute walk from Duckfat is our spin off—Duckfat Friteshack.
Duckfat Friteshack is a walk-up fry window much like you would find in Belgium or the streets of Amsterdam. Tucked down the alley off Washington Ave with Oxbow Blending & Bottling, you’ll find the Friteshack offering some of Duckfat’s longstanding favorites including poutine, extra thick milkshakes, craft sodas and, of course, our Belgian “Frites” fried in duck fat. A wood-fired grill is hot during specified hours and serving up specials. Duckfat Friteshack does not serve panini. Takeout or dine out at outdoor picnic table seating or barrel standing.

Stopped by the original and just wasn’t up for the wait (which was a totally normal 1 hr 45 minutes). After hostess suggested the frites spinoff we drove over. Maybe it’s normally a lovely walk but it was raining and there was some gnarly road construction between the two. Food was fantastic (as always) but the roomy and inviting brewery location to eat next door was a game changer. We enjoyed the original poutine, lobster roll, smoked pork sandwich (very smoky), donut holes (plus got drinks from the brewery). Highly recommend everything 🙂

Most people come to Portland for the lighthouses, working waterfront, and New England charm. We come for the fries.

Amazing food, atmosphere and location (adjacent to open-air brewery). Food was delicious; would have just loved to see more options for food

Awesome food! We got the Belgian Frites with an awesome variety of tasty sauces. We also got 2 different types of chicken wings – they were both super good! Love eating here whenever we are at Oxbow, enjoying the patio. Will definitely be going again soon!

Definitely a treat when visiting Portland. Always fans of the original, we had to see the new spot. Loved the location & seating. Simple window service with easy ordering and options to grab beers from the brewery next door & enjoy the live music.

Love the environment there. Such a good place to hang out with friends. The foods there were surprisingly good. I love the duckfat fries and salad the most.

This was an amazing experience! We’ve never had anything like it, and we’ve always wanted to try poutine so we just got the classic dish and we were NOT disappointed! The employees were so friendly and accommodating, and the whole atmosphere was just really cool. It was attached to a brewery/distillery as well which had a cool vibe. All in all it was a very good experience, and we’re so glad we stopped here during our 1 day trip to Maine!

The poutine here is great! The pork belly was really smoky, and not a great deal in my opinion, but definitely worth a try at least once. I’m also a big fan of their cookies & cream milkshake.

My wife has never experienced poutine fries before….we came here to share and had a great experience! We got the duck added and yes it came out a little pricey in her opinion…it was around the ballpark of 22. In my eyes, it was very reasonable for a shareable dish in that part of town. I finished by stating that I would love to come back just for this!
