** 6/3/23 UPDATE** I’m bumping them back up to 4 stars and adding more pics. They had a rough stretch post-COVID, but they’re back up to their old form again. Great food! The swordfish steak (a special tonight) was very good. The crab cakes are top notch.

We went here for our anniversary. It also happened to be Mother’s Day. Other than the soup and salad everything else was extremely disappointing. The wings were not very flavorful. They were not saucy and dry The ribeye was not tender or buttery as a ribeye should be. We ordered it medium rare, and the wellness was correct but the steak was overly fatty and chewy. There was no flavor on the steak or the mashed potatoes. The crab cakes and risotto were dry and not flavorful. Everything seemed to be drowned in a pool of butter. The plating was sloppy and one of the crab cakes was smashed before it came to the table. We had wanted to order dessert but after the disappointing meal we did not want to waste more money there. Our server Renee was friendly and on top of her game, but the food itself was extremely sub par. Do not plan on returning and highly suggest you do not waste your special event or money on this place.

This was the first time visiting the Augustine Inn. The hostess and wait staff are very friendly and accommodating. The menu seemed to have something for everyone. We started with the sampler and shared a Cesear Salad. Both delicious. Absolutely loved the surf and turf. Had plenty to eat and was too full to order any desserts.

Sat down to eat at 5:45 pm. Ordered around 6 pm. Around 6:30 pm the waitress comes to tell us they’re out of lobster tail and asked if we can sub the surf and turf with crab cakes. We oblige and ask if we still have to pay the full $78 for a surf and turf with no lobster. We were told yes, it would be full price because they were subbing for us. Fast forward 45 more minutes and the food finally comes (tables sat after us had already received entrees). Steak ordered medium came out cold and raw. Surf and turf replacement crab cake was ONE burnt crab cake in place of a crab stuffed lobster tail. We told the waitress we were done and opted to just take a to go box of steak back to the dog. Total bill came out to $100 after they eventually gave us 25% off the bill. We ended up going to Applebees and having a better and cheaper meal. The manager Nicole did call and apologize and offer a refund on the steak, which put our bill at $80 for 2 glasses of wine, a beer, and some edible fries and asparagus. Will not be back – the food quality is sub par and the price astounding.

Went there for a birthday brunch yesterday. The food was fantastic. There where a number of special requests including mine and they were met with a smile and fulfilled promptly. I asked for a fruit cup which was not on the menu. They brought me a bowl with strawberries, green apple slices, and orange wedges. It was delicious! We had two waitresses and they were wonderful. We will be back next time we are in Middletown.

Went here first the first time to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Food and service were great, we ordered so much food and loved it all! The sweet chili wings and the ahi tuna were another level and super fresh, the entrees were super generous portions and the desserts were amazing especially the triple layer chocolate heaven thing our server Gaby was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended and will definitely be coming back!

My fiancé and I went here for our anniversary. He had steak and I had their mashed potatoes; they were amazing! I am a very picky person when it comes to food but the food here was great and the person who attended to us was readily available to help. Lastly, we had the bread pudding for dessert and we loved it too!

My husband ordered the crab cake dinner, both crab cakes came out black charred on top It was someone else besides our waitress who brought them to him and immediately we pointed out that they were burnt That particular waitress said that that was normal. And of course we sent it back. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon dinner, medium rare cooked. It came well done not even the slightest hint of pink in the center of the fillet. I also asked to not be serve the mashed potatoes that normally came with that but if I could please have the parmesan risotto instead. The bacon wrapped filet ended up coming on a large blob of mashed potatoes with risotto on the side, I sent back my dinner. We have had a couple of good dinners there It has been a while since we’ve eaten there but tonight’s experience was absolutely horrible. Are waitress Kaitlin was excellent and I felt so bad for her when she saw what was happening with the food brought to our table. She was very apologetic. Of course it is not her doing. So I tried to tip her on what the normal bill would be with the messed up food. I will not be back there. Was very disappointed.. just would like to know who’s in charge of quality control? We have a lot of other wonderful restaurants that we are never disappointed with. This was awful..
