Lovely restaurant in the great little town of Mascoutah. The food is great and they have lunch specials. They serve drinks in Mason jars, and the inside is cozy and inviting. The restaurant is also right next to the reservoir, so if you’re at the bar, you get a nice view of the area. They also have a kind of banquet room that can be reserved for private events. I love everything about this place. Highly recommend!

Updated Review: Their Fried Chicken is so delicious, the best item on the menu!!! Hubby’s prime rib was just ok and their steaks are cooked on a grill. Baked Potato was dark and old,replaced with a different one. Green Beans, some were fresh, some were dark and old tasting. And there was a hair in his green beans. This visit was just mediocre. Chicken is the best. Chicken and dumplings are homemade but not much chicken added.

Came to this place celebrating my Birthday! My dad had the Pork Steak, literally the biggest pork steak I’ve ever seen and he was addicted to it, my Mom had the Pasta Con Broccoli and she was in love with it, I had the Ribeye Medium Well and literally the Best Steak I’ve ever had!!!!!!!!

We arrived on Friday night around 730 . They were very busy and had to wait while they cleaned a table off for us . What impressed me the most was . Every employee and there were 6 or 7 that walked by while we waiting asked us if we had been helped out yet . Kudos to the owners and staff on that for sure.

Well… First of all we are out of Towner’s from Oklahoma. We wanted to try something away from the city while we were here so we heard about this place. Everything was great except the spaghetti. I’m pretty sure the sauce was burnt, just had that burnt taste like it was simmering in a pot all day. But other than that, the filet and porterhouse we had was excellent.

Service was great. Food was kind of expensive and had no flavor. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I had the fried cod with loaded mashed potatoes. It was $13-$14 and I got 2 small nuggets of fish that was supposed to be 1/2 lb and I got a small scoop of loaded mashed potatoes. That being said I would probably go back.

My husband and I went out for date night. He ordered the cowboy ribeye with a topping of garlic. I ordered the prime rib with the lobster/shrimp topping. When the food was set down, my husband and I could distinctly smell something rotten. I took a tiny bite of the seafood and it confirmed that the lobster had been expired for some time. I took the seafood off and my husband tried a bite of the steak to make sure that didn’t taste bad. The steak seemed fine so we just gave the waitress the bad seafood. She apologized and said she would take the add-on off our bill. No big deal. My husband and I have been vomiting all night and this morning since consuming our meals. I wouldn’t wish this food poisoning on anyone else. For a restaurant to serve bad seafood that clearly smells awful…I would not recommend ever going here to eat. Please be wary!
