I have never had birria tacos in my life. I feel the need to disclose that. That said, these are hands down the best tacos I’ve had in Houston (yes, better than El Tiempo, Lupe’s, etc). The consommé is so good I almost ordered another cup to drink. The tacos were perfectly portioned, and bursting with flavor. The taco shells were fried perfectly with just the right amount of beef fat.

I ordered the birriadillas. Four tacos with consomé, cilantro, onion and lime on the side. Their agua de Jamaica (hibiscus) was fresh and delicious it’s made in house not with flavored powder or any other fake stuff. I thought I wasnt gonna get full but I did! The tacos are a good size, not small. One thing I did not like was that my husband ordered chiles toreados and they totally forgot about it. We had to remind them and I got them when I was on my last taco. The chiles toreados were so good though, spicy and flavorful

TJ Birria has become one of my favorite spots and is also where I first tried birrias. The food is crazy good- particularly the ramen combo where you get ramen in this delicious mexican broth with a bit of shredded beef + two birriadillas (dip it in the ramen broth for the best experience).

I stopped in for a quick bite thinking I’d take some togo because I wasn’t that hungry… but no, I sat & ate that whole plate in less than 10 minutes & gladly left with a happy tummy. Thank you for the kind service & delicious food, I will be back to try more.

Excellent Shrimp tacos We also got fajita street tacos and quesobirrias! The agua de Jamaica was on point too. All around good experience good music ! Clean restrooms and store. Definitely will be back . I highly recommend this birria spot ! The customer service was top notch .
