Some friends and I went out to lunch. One of them recommended RC’s Kitchen. You go up to the front and see the many options that they have to offer. They have fried chicken wings, collard greens, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes etc. You pick what you want I chose three wings and two sides which were mashed potatoes with gravy and string beans. They give alot of food and I ate every bit of it!! The food was ok I had to add a lot of hot sauce to the chicken.

This restaurant is amazing! We can taste the talent, pride, and passion! ❤️❤️❤️ We got the made to order catfish, greens, muffin, and mac and cheese and also the yams. The other sides and mains also looked great and fresh.

Honestly, I was surprised at how clean and well season the food was. I actually google, “Soul food near me,” and this was one of the locations that came up. I’m originally from Decatur Ga, but I never visited this location before, until today. Lord’s will, I’ll be back. Everything was good and well season.

Being a former professional football player, my teammates and I would seek out to find the best soul food in every city we played.If I were playing now the buck would stop here at RC’s Kitchen. I’m from out of town, googled soul food, they had great reviews so we went there. Got there around 1:30 pm, a lot of the food wasn’t ready. The young lady at the counter asked if we wanted to wait for a few of the items we wanted & I asked her how long was the wait she replied “a few hours”. Like do you think we want to wait here for a few hours for food. We proceeded to ask about other items as this was our first time there she didn’t want to answer our questions so instead of me causing the scene I could have about her poor service, we ordered other items. There were no other customers behind us so we weren’t holding up a line or being unreasonable by asking questions. The Mac & cheese was horrible. Worse I’ve ever eaten. The yams were pretty good & so were the greens & cornbread. The chicken wings I had were huge and a bit undercooked. Overall I would have given a 3 star review but the customer service was terrible. I don’t like spending my hard earned money where it’s not appreciated.

You won’t be disappointed with ANY of the meat you purchase. The ribs are exceptional….the chicken wings, delectable and even the fish is always fresh and fried to order. The sides, however, do need a bit of work. They’re not bad…but they are definitely not what I call good (others like them, though). Overall, definitely worth the visit!

Listen, you might have to trip a couple church ladies and push a deacon down to get in line real good but when you do, your taste buds will be pleased. Lol (I’m kidding) However, the food is AMAZING, it’s the perfect SOUL FOOD spot. The restaurant says down home and this is my 3rd visit of many more to come. I had the meatloaf (brown gravy) and it’s was PERFECT!! That Mac & cheese is disrespectfully good! Cheesy & creamy like granny did it! I know I’m dramatic but I’m a foodie and I love for a good plate! My husband had the fried pork chops and I tried his too, fried to perfection! Now let’s talk about them wings my son order!! FRESHLY COOKED WHEN ORDERED!! THEN END!! Y’all better get on down here and stand at the door like that old Mervyns commercial… EARLY AND WAITING!! Church let out on ya and you and that line hang out that door.. I’m sorry for ya!!

I was so excited about the soul food spot in the neighborhood I grew up in until yesterday when I got the wings and the meatloaf dinner. I asked for all drums and was willing to pay the difference, but they gave me drums and flats that was soft and not crispy. Then, I got a meatloaf dinner and it taste like banquets when I was a little girl eating meat loaf from the frozen section of the grocery store. I was looking for the holy trio or at least two of the ingredients, but I didn’t get nothing but a piece of beef and brown gravy that wasn’t seasoned very well. It was the service that put the icing on the cake, because my food was sitting up there for a long time and if I didn’t ask for it I think it would’ve just been sitting there. They ask people for names, but they didn’t ask my name. The little old sweet lady was multitasking when they know they need a young person in there taking money and passing out food but they big man from the back want to ask her questions when she already trying to keep up with the orders. But, the atmosphere was ol’ school and I love ol’ school music.

I just left this restaurant about 15 min ago and ya’ll…the meatloaf, the max and cheese and the peach cobbler is bomb!! I’m an extremely picky eater and like my food cooked and seasoned a certain way or I’ll throw the whole plate away but this right here is delicious!
