So I am new to the area and I went in because of a sign in the window. Which was FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! When I placed my order not ONLY was she rude… The $4.95 special was now $8.95 I kindly referenced the sign in the window. Her explanation was. I don’t see it. 8.95 WHAT YOU WANT. I advised her that if that’s the price she should take that big sign out of the window. I took a picture of the sign. And that was 5 weeks ago. The sign is still up luring unknowing customers in and charging a higher price.

So so disappointing. I’ve been coming here for a long time and never had an issue until now. This restaurant robbed me of $10.75. I know that this doesn’t seem like a lot but for me this day it was all I had. Driving home from work the other day so tired didn’t feel like cooking. Decided to call in an order of 2 half chicken to go with rice I had from night before at home. Arrive to king chef there’s a woman taking orders answering phone doing a lot. Moving way too fast. I understand your busy and you have try and keep up. She swipes my card for the 10.75 I get alert instantly on my phone and then she swipes again. For 2.86 I believe. Comes to window and says card didn’t go through and refuses to give my food. I’m arguing with her like lady it did get charged look trying to show her receipt from phone because she wasn’t understanding what she did wrong.. I went home hungry and no money to buy food elsewhere. Very very disappointed. I will never go back to king chef.

Truthfully , this is easily my favorite Chinnse joint around & definitely by far the best one in Poughkeepsie ! The meat is never uncooked , never chewy or rough , & it never has an odd taste , like some places when their food is inconsistent – this place is always consistent and you always get exactly what you ordered .

I called and placed an order here. Granted their delivery was fast. Not the point…the point is i am NOT required to get a tip.. The driver guy gave me my change and as i went to walk back inside, he proceeded to say”really? Your not gonna give me a tip?” I only had 2$ to my name and was forced to give up 1$ that i needed. Very poor customer service. The food isnt even tip worthy. If i could give 0 stars i would. I am very disappointed

I live within walking distance. Great service. The woman cash handling does a great job ensuring that you understand any possible upcharges to your order and is clear about how much it will may be. Communication can be a little difficult, but nothing a little patience and understanding can’t fix. I’ve ordered delivery for my first order and the man was very polite and fast.
