Mentor’s, which opened June and is named after owner Mentor Berisha, marries a Mediterranean style seafood restaurant with an American style steakhouse. The 90-seat space, with French doors that open for a great al- fresco feel, features prime beef dry aged in house for 31 days for optimal flavor. Berisha, who was born in Croatia but grew up in Peja Republic of Kosovo, gets his meat from the Piedmont region of Italy which, he said, is by far the best region for grass-fed beef.

Mentor’s Mediterranean is a great place to dine. Most of the dishes were clearly 5-star, but a couple missed the marks. I am rating 5 stars, as in my opinion, the exceptional service pushed the restaurant over 4 stars. Entrees (We had the filet mignon and the branzino) were a bit salty for my taste, but very good. The cocktails are very good – my husband raved over the oysters appetizer. The in house created tiramisu is definitely not to be missed! (delicious!) Would definitely dine here again.
