Something tasty and different off the beaten path — the hamburgers are delicious and messy, and the chili dogs have a distinctive meaty “chili” mix I have yet to find elsewhere. The hamburger steak is absolutely fantastic with the grilled onions, mushrooms and gravy. Friendly staff and welcoming small-town atmosphere. Note that it’s presently cash-only, but they give generous portions for the price.

A very tasty and delicious cheeseburger! However, I really couldn’t eat it or pick it up without the burger falling completely apart. Besides that it was a very good cheeseburger! The chili cheese fries, not so much! The fries weren’t seasoned, didn’t really get chili, just unseasoned ground beef & shredded cheese. Very disappointing. The burger was best part of the meal. Definitely worth a visit if your hungry and wanting a good cheeseburger.

Man this is a great burger. We got the double, this is a big guy. It will fill you up to the top. Half hand half onion rings and tots and you won’t need anything else. Great place. It has been here since 1971. 51 years of grease is where the flavor is coming from. They use real meat, making hand rolled patties.

This isn’t a fancy place at all…..but definitely the best burger I have had all year! My wife and 2 sons enjoyed theirs as well! I had gravy on my fries, also excellent. My daughter’s boneless wings here delicious. Just great simple food and the price didn’t hurt either.

I been eating at Johnny’s since I was in my teens, stopped by today and ordered three cheeseburgers, I was shocked at the price! Almost twenty dollars for three burgers, and way too much mayonnaise! And they didn’t offer napkins, not the same as when Johnny run it, it’s under new management. They no longer have up front pricing, like most everyone else, price gouging, it was a to go order, next time I go thru Ninety Six I’m going to keep on going, I’m done with Johnny’s cheeseburger house. Saddens me to see this happening! Johnny I miss you and the way you ran your business!

Come for the burgers, not the friendly service. We stopped here twice during our trip to Lake Greenwood SP. The burgers are very good and worth the trip. (10 min from SP) The counter staff seemed disinterested, at best. 2 different people went in to order and both came away with the same feeling. Burgers were big and prices were great. Fries were ok. Fresh cut fries and friendly staff and this place could be huge!
