Quaint little place in downtown Sparta right on the highway. All homemade foods with a nice variety for almost everyone. The pies are to die for. Most tables and booths can accommodate 4 people and only one table for 8. Very friendly owners and staff and service was great. You won’t be dissatisfied here.

Walked in on a Sunday morning shortly after they stopped serving breakfast. After asking if they still were serving breakfast, I was read the riot act on how they can’t accomodate breakfast AND lunch at the same time. Dude walks in after we had our menus, and the riot act, gets OFFERED breakfast and is served breakfast just seconds after we get our order in! REALLY? I paid for the coffee we hadn’t even tasted and we left and I promise to NEVER return. Thank you for the fake hospitality, but you can defuse the right to serve or not serve anyone you please, but I WILL NOT donate my money to PREJUDICE! I will eat and give my patronage to an establishment that appreciates my visit.

First off, the food tasted good. I wanted to put that out there because there is room for improvement. I do have some quibbles about things that can be easily rectified. I had the open face roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife’s portion of meatloaf was pretty small, basically a kid sized portion. She ate her meal and was still hungry. The mashed potatoes were the instant kind. Neither of us are fans of instant potatoes and would have preferred to have real mashed potatoes.

Simple, clean Cafe. Service was quick and friendly. I had the breakfast special and the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was very good. The hash browns were pretty plain. I would go back.

Friday night is All-You-Can-Eat Chicken Livers starting at 4 pm. My favorite entree because they’re fresh, not frozen, crunchy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. Highly recommended!
