I love the porch seating at Monte Cristo and the ambiance, it’s even nicer if you can get a second floor table outside with a view of the park across the street. What to order at Monte Cristo? For me it is always the Monte Cristo of course! Not too many restaurants offer this indulgent sandwich anymore. Egg battered and deep fried or grilled ham, Turkey, and cheese. It was served with Russian dressing which I liked but I would prefer the traditional confectionery sugar and jam. A deep fried version is delectable but their grilled version is tasty as well. The fries were seasoned to perfection. Service was fast and friendly. For cocktails a blueberry mule, not served in a mule and some type of strawberry concoction filled with pulp from all of the mashed up fruit. I wish I had just ordered a wine or beer especially considering the drink prices. I will put that in the memory bank for my next visit. It is always on my go to list when visiting Lake George!

The overall experience was enjoyable, with good food and attentive service. However, it is worth noting that the additional protein portions for salads were somewhat small, leaving room for improvement in that aspect.

Wait staff was kind and the deck seating was nice. We enjoyed the fish and chips but the stars were lost on the white special pizza. It was touted as a garlic pizza but we couldn’t taste any garlic, just very sweet cheese which was not good at all. Also the orange mocktail was simply orange juice with whipped cream, not bad but certainly not worth the price charged for a fun mixed drink. Overall it was just ok.

Dined in for lunch today with the family. Though it took almost 10 minutes for the waitress to arrive, the food made up for it. All in with tip was $69. We got a caprese pizza, bbq chicken pizza, kid’s grilled cheese meal, lobster bisque and a Guinness. Bisque was tasty, fries were crisp, grilled cheese toasty and buttery. The pizzas were awesome though the bbq chicken had too much bbq sauce and not enough chicken. We’ll worth the stop.

The place is nice and spacious. The employees are also very friendly. All of them are successful except the pasta. I didn’t like the pasta. The servings were too big. In general, it is beautiful, stylish. You can come for a steak meal.

We have been visiting Lake George for many years. We have eaten at many places. Some good, some bad. We stumbled across Monte Cristo and were pleasantly surprised. Our most recent visit was no different. Our server Amanda was friendly, and attentive. Our food was great as always.

My family ate here on Wednesday, August 16. We were seated right away and they were very busy. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. The food was delicious. Between the four of us we ordered: Fried clams cooked well done (per our request), coconut shrimp, scallops, boneless beef short ribs, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, and salad. Everyone was happy! Definitely recommend this restuarant.
