Dodges Market is the oldest continuing operating store in the state of New Jersey. The store became a National landmark in 1978 and has been open since 1886. It is known for its famous sharp cheese, roasted peanuts and cashews. The store got a new look and took on a new identity in 2010 when the restaurant was added along with a coffee bar, bakery and private dining for up tp 52 people in the elegant chestnut room located on the second floor of the market.

I went here for lunch today with a party of 6, all of us vegan. I had called a few days ahead to make sure they could accommodate us, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. When we got there, he had 2 vegan specials planned for us made with fresh local produce and both were amazing. We also got an order of hand-cut fries for the table which were seriously the best fries I’ve ever had in my life…I might have to go back to Elmer just for them! All of the food was very high quality, very fresh and very delicious! One word of caution though is don’t go here if you’re in a rush because service is very slow. But that just gives you more time to visit, relax, and soak in the authentic old-timey country vibe of the place. Not just a meal, it’s an experience! And the owners are just the nicest guys and very accommodating to dietary restrictions. If you’re in the area definitely check this place out.

Don’t get the panini, unless you like them burnt. Our 1st time eating there did not make a good impression. The owner didn’t even tell us our to-go order was ready, he just left it on the counter. We were so disappointed and will not be back.

Excellent gourmet sandwiches. I highly recommend their breaded eggplant. Perfectly prepared. Friendly staff and good prices accentuate the high quality fare. A great stop for a quick lunch. A great cup of coffee too!

first time there. i got the curry chicken sandwich and my wife got a apple walnut chicken salad. mine was great, she liked hers aswell. I would definitely get it again but I want to try others. menu has great options. also tasty pastries…tasty. I like the atmosphere inside but it was nice out so we sat on the porch.

The food was good, but the wait was long being the only ones there. Ordered the sandwich special,a half of grilled cheese, and a salad. It was yummy. They sell other things, but nothing is marked, and when asked why, we were told the owner doesn’t like to post prices. We didn’t want to keep asking, so we just didn’t purchase anything.

New Dodge’s Market in my opinion is one of thee best places to eat and just hang out in South Jersey. The food is always fresh, cooked perfectly and on point’! The ambience in here is damn near perfect and homely. I can’t recommend a certain meal due to everything I’ve had is incredible. My girlfriend and I try to make it here once a week due to how much we love it here.

Such a cute place to stop into with the most delicious food! My cousin had a surprise baby shower here and I was back within a few days because of how great the atmosphere was and how friendly the staff is. Signature salad dressing is excellent, and the panini I ordered with fresh basil, mozzarella, pesto, and tomatoes was to die for!!! A MUST-see if you’re in the area.

Went to lost elephant to check out a new brewery then needed to get food to bring kayaking. I’m sick of stopping at wawa for the convenience since the food is terrible, and said “let’s try that place across the street.” What a great decision that was. Steak sandwich was 10/10 and the customer service was 10/10 (even gave us a free ice cream). I will drive to Elmer just to stop here in the future.
