Cancro Special
Provolone, roast beef and pepperoni. In the summer of ’74, the Pepsi delivery man requested a curious combination of provolone, roast beef, and pepperoni. Peter Cancro’s brother, John, liked the sandwich so much, he gave it the family name and a menu spot of its own.

As first timers to the franchise, a friend and I had walked in and started by starring at the menu info above, after a minute or so I expected the staff or at the least any person working there would have greeted us and possibly expressed that when we get done looking over the selections and were bout ready to place our orders to feel free to come on over to that side of the counter where we start everything off by placing our order at, and point up at the signage above that states “place your order here” so that your new customers are made familiar how to get things started. Instead we were stuck standing around wondering how busy everyone must be to not greet us or ask if it’s our first time there.. it wasn’t till we began gesturing that we were considering a particular sandwich and one employee simply pointed up to a sign above his head as if we were refusing to comply or be difficult as if we knew how this works on the daily… it was clearly a easily visible signage towards the furthest end of the counter from the entrance, hell a particular competitor sandwich spot has a very similar setup, but again, it really was the first time ever choosing to eat at any J Mike’s… just want to help give a little perspective on the first timer type of customer’s experience walking in… a routine thing that most restaurants or shops have is to ask that any or all employees, so long as they are not helping a customer already, do their best to greet the person walking in the door, customer or not. Just saying.

Rude. customer service is horrible. 12.00 for a small turkey and cheese sandwich with a drink and a bag of chips on top of that. I’m not a Subway fan but you would get a lot better over there for a few dollars less and no attitude. Sorry I had you do your job.

I dont know how you make a sandwich twice and get it wrong. The music is blasting i guess thats why. I never received my order i gave up, Im kind of glad the way they were throwing that meat on the bread. They dont read back what you ordered. That would help.

Food is great . The customer service is horrible. Went to the Jersey Mikes on Fredericksburg Rd in San Antonio. The two younger guys working there were loud and obnoxious and were screaming and laughing while making people’s food. Then they acted like everybody who were waiting to order were all A-holes for wanting food and interrupting their conversation.

Lady was very rude to us. Bread crumbs everywhere. No changing gloves. No cleaning after different sandwiches or orders. I asked for a more meat in sandwich, lady got upset with her mean mugging face. It wasn’t like I asked for free items. It was an unpleasant experience. I will not be going back to this location on Fredricksberg Rd. ever!! It was so bad, I would have rather went to subway!!

Update giving extra star because the assistant manager seemed nice. The reason my rating changed was because of my sandwich was SO SLOPPY I have never had a sandwich from here that has so much meat that it was just falling out everytime I picked it up. I would never return to Jersey Mike for this reason because either the person who made my sandwich doesn’t like their job or they didn’t want to serve me!
