We enjoyed this place a lot. Both dinners we got were delicious. I had the pulled chicken it was great. The slaw potatoes salad and baked beans went so well with it also. It was all around good. I will be going back here for sure. The service was great. We walked right in and were seated. It was good all around.

Very nice atmosphere and décor. Service was friendly. Fried green tomatoes were good, their ranch dressing was great (for those ranch aficionados). Pulled pork was very good– flavorful, not dry at all. But the brisket, that was the BEST I’ve had in my life! Excellent experience.

Was seated fairly quickly and drink order taken immediately.. went downhill from there. Server walked around us for a good 20 mins before asking if we were ready to order… this was at lunchtime. With maybe 4 tables set. Once our order was taken, we noticed food sitting on the counter for the server to hand out sitting for far too long. People receiving the food were not pleased. Food arrived, well part of it. We waited for about 3 or 4 mins on our shared fry basket. Food was incredible. Fries were outstanding. Spoke to a member of the kitchen staff that came out to try to help the server catch up and found out she was new. And working alone. Experience definitely would have been a 5 star if the service had been better. To be honest not all of it was the servers fault. With training and time she could be an excellent server but probably shouldn’t have been alone on a Friday lunch shift.

Worst customer service I have experienced at a restaurant in a long time. I eat at the Calhoun location all the time and the food is great so I decided to try this location in Summerville while traveling. Waitress took our order after my wife and family sat down then completely disappeared. Waited almost an hour for our food. This would have been only a minor annoyance if our server would have communicated this delay to us but as I stated, she was completely missing. Never stopped and checked on us to see if we needed anything or could use refills. After about 45 minutes, we had to go and flag down a server to ask for drink refills which had been empty for 30 minutes. Food finally arrived and then the server disappeared again. Never stopped by again to check on us. My wife had to flag a different server down when we were done to ask for the check and pay for the meal. We probably could have got up and left without paying and nobody would have even noticed. Even after all this, my wife still left a 10 percent tip. On the way out we could hear the server behind us complaining that we only left 10 percent. This tip was extremely generous considering the server never once checked on us without us having to chase her down. Very disappointed in this location. Thatchers is usually so much better. Will stick to the Calhoun location going forward.

This place has a wonderful atmosphere. The staff go above and beyond. And the food is phenomenal! The portions are huge. And the price isn’t high at all. At a year later, it’s still amazing. Still the go to BBQ place. 7-19-23, still amazing.

Update 2/25/22: Tonight they have lost some valued customers simply because we had to wait for over the estimated time given for our food to be ready. On top of that, they almost forgot about my order if we hadn’t have checked it. My order, the junkyard salad was supposed to have black olives. The lettuce tasted one more day before expiring. As for the egg, it tasted too vinegar-like. But in all, it was a great salad that I was able to finish.

The service is horrible! Let your table know if you are out of all things you are out of at the beginning. There are different servers every time we go and they are out of something constantly. Management or something needs to change as well as the training of incompetent servers. Also the fact that their ceiling as been leaking on two of their tables almost the entire time they have been open is an issue as well, especially when they try to sit people there. I’m not sure we will be back.
