My son has been craving Birria tacos and as soon as he bit into the ones from here, he said, “this is everything I’ve been wanting.” We also ordered the carne asada with rice and beans. Some of the best rice I’ve ever had, and the steak was delicious. Everything was so flavorful, and just an all around great place. Can’t wait to go back.

Having grown up in Texas, and spent a lot of time in Mexico, what a gem of a place to find in Plainville, CT! It is pretty rare to find Oaxacan cuisine in the northeast US, but this place is the real deal. The food is delicious, the service is very friendly, and the prices are reasonable. 10/10 recommend and will go again.

Easy to drive past, but don’t! Don Taco is less than 100 yards from Relic Brewing. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. This was my first stop, and the Birria tacos were excellent. The other items coming off the grill looked just as good. I was tempted to order a second lunch.

Don Taco is a blink and miss it spot driving by. But well worth finding! Super friendly, smiling service. Best part of visit was the Empanada. Very flavorful and made differently than other Mexican restaurants. The rice served along with it was excellent. Highly recommended the empanada…. although it is a bit pricey at $10.99 for just one. Also $2.50 for water… it all starts to add up. The taco shells were fantastic, soft and fresh… some of the best around. Taco fillings were a little sparse. This is what made it 4 stars. If the tacos had more filling it would change their dynamic all around. Overall a great little spot to eat.

My wife and I both got barria tacos. The shell of the taco has a fresh and flavorful taste. The meat was cooked perfectly, had a great texture, however didn’t offer much flavor. The soup for dipping was good, but for me the pico and the salsas packed so much flavor. Dipping these birria tacos in the spicier salsa complemented the meal with a spicy and smoky taste. The owner (I believe I spoke with) was extremely friendly and inviting. There is a nice selection of traditional sodas as well as Jarritos sodas, and horchata, hibiscus cold tea, and other drinks available. My wife had the hibiscus and it was great. I had a pineapple Jarritos and it was not overly sweet, and had just the right amount of carbonation.

I had Don Taco catered for an engagement party and the food was SO good! It was a hit with everyone! We got the taco platters and they were phenomenal! The family who owns the business really are so nice and so accommodating! I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for some amazing homemade tacos! And the churros are delicious too!
