Definitely an A for service – our waitress was amazing, on top of everything, friendly, attentive. The atmosphere looked like a great place for either a romantic date or a dinner with friends/business associates. The food was…okay? I didn’t like their choices with seasoning on the shrimp and grits (which to be fair, our waitress warned me about). There was so much of a wine taste in the sauce that it made you pucker. The Cajun pasta was slightly overcooked (both the pasta and the sausage). The cocktails were good. And like I said, the service and atmosphere were amazing. Maybe I would try the short ribs next time as the waitress suggested.

Wonderful restaurant above B.B. King’s at the corner of Beale & Second. Hidden in plain sight like a speakeasy, this third-story restaurant is great for locals and tourists alike.

Make sure to make a reservation before coming. Our server was pretty awesome. It was a bit slow but it was busy. We ordered the avocado crab appetizer and it was fresh and delicious. Ordered the tomahawk and it was cooked to perfection. The braised short ribs and mashed potatoes were to die for. We also ordered the crab cakes and the flavor was superb. The Mac n cheese was creamy and delish. The drinks were delicious. The desserts were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great meal.

Good food, great service, and great atmosphere. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. It is HIGHLY recommended that you make reservations. We made the mistake of not doing this. Fortunately, there was plenty of room at the bar and the staff was expedient and kind. Our food was cooked to perfection. Seeing as it was our anniversary, we got a special message for our dessert. 10 out of 10, I’ll come back again.

We came here for dinner as part of our 15th anniversary trip to Memphis. It was a fabulous experience from start to finish. We arrived early for our reservation and were still seated immediately. Our waiter was friendly, funny, attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. We received a free champagne toast to celebrate our special occasion. Then we had cajun shrimp for an appetizer and it was spicy! The bread it came with is great for dipping, but very filling. My husband had the lamb chops and I had stuffed chicken with a side of maple bacon Brussels sprouts that were out of this world good! The fingerling potatoes were good, too. The blue tint on the windows creates a mesmerizing atmosphere. The steps going up to the restaurant are steep. It’s not handicap accessible. After dinner, you can go down the back steps to BB King’s Blues Club to listen to music and skip the line and cover charge since you ate at the restaurant. Definitely recommend Itta Bena for a fine dining experience.

I’m not normally a 5* giver but this place has been great each time we have been and I highly recommend trying them out. Favorite appetizer is easily the crab stuffed avocado. The crab cakes come in at a close second. So far my only real critique is that the sweet potato seems to be lacking something. I can’t place what it is but something is missing from the flavor profile I’m used to. This was in no way going to hurt my review as everything else has been phenomenal. Fav entree so far has been short rib with the pan seared chicken coming second.

Great vibe, drinks and food! The braised short ribs were fork tender and so flavorful. The serving was large enough for two!!! The tomahawk pork chop was perfectly seasoned with a velvety beurre blanc and crisp Brussels! The lamb chops are a no-brainer -you cannot miss with these menu selections! Will definitely visit again!

Very much enjoyed dining here. Nice menu selections. Although, somewhat pricey, but our meal selections were delicious. Our waitress, Kelsey, was the best! Highly recommended trying their famous Beer Bread. It was really delicious and different. My glass of red Sangria was too good. Pianist and saxophonist duo provided the perfect background jazz music.
