Lived in Japan for years. The “karaage” was some weird chewy fried strips. Zero crunch, and none of the flavor of karaage. It was very disappointing.

Sumo Express is a great late-night option for food. They have a super clean and polished interior, and their food is pretty decent. The menu is digital, as well as the ordering system. Seems like they get a lot of take out orders, and if you come later at night the service is a little slower because of that.

This place is nice, affordable and open till late. I liked the pork gyoza and the vegetarian roll. The sea weed felt different and not too good. Overall it is a nice place and I would try again for something different. My wife took the salmon roll and she really liked it. I also took the Ichiban beer (because it reminded me of the commercial that Joey did) and it is a nice beer.

This used to be an okay place, I think we got sushi (takeout) from here a few month ago and it was fine. However the karaage has gotten really weird: barely any breading or seasoning and some kind of yogurt sauce came with it? The salmon was even worse. I got the salmon deluxe set, as well as the spicy salmon roll. Every piece of salmon tasted like water. The slightest bit of pressure from my chopsticks left deep impressions or sloughed off bits of it. I have NEVER had that happen with any salmon sushi I’ve ever had. The spicy salmon roll tasted mostly like breading and wasn’t even spicy!

If you like sushi and you are looking for quick lunch or dinner? This is the right place for you! The food is very fresh. I can tell you that this place is fancy and there a huge TV; while having quick food. The employees and also the manager are very attentive. You are hungry and you don’t know where or what to eat so then follow me on IG @foodiebesseattle. I really cannot praise this place enough. I’ve eaten at a lot of sushi and teriyaki joints in my life, had plenty of Japanese curry, yakisoba, you name it. This place is the best. Everything is cooked perfectly, so that it has just the right crispness or softness. The curry spices seem fresh and it’s delicious. I am not usually a fan of Japanese curry but this has proven to me that when it’s done well it’s divine. The sushi it also delicious. Maybe this place is too good! I’ve ordered from here pretty much every week since I discovered it. Just lucky I live so close to this special place.
