A few of my go to Indian food places no longer doing buffet options. So I randomly picked this place, and I had a great meal. The place didn’t look fancy, and the plate is paper plate, but the tasty food made up all the differences.

The flavors are all awesome, although my chicken tandoori was raw (reason for my 3 star rating). I pointed it out, & the server said that’s the way it’s supposed to be because of the spices. See picture & judge for yourself. I’m not a fan of styrofoam, the plates were styrofoam & the plasticware were too flimsy it was hard to cut the food. I was shock the lunch buffet was $21.00 per person & they had plasticware & styrofoam plates . This is too expensive for lunch…. I gave 2 star for service, it was a buffet, the cashier was bouncing between the register, busing tables, & pouring drinks, didn’t see him wash his hands…

Today, I had a penchant for Indian buffet. Post pandemic, it’s been harder to find Indian buffets or buffets of any sorts. I narrowed down Dharani Express after going through google reviews (much like this one). True to what they say on their website, Dharani Express is a no-frills place. I set my expectations accordingly and then the unexpected happened. The food was awesome!

It was a nice experience. The food quantity is great for the price. We ordered Malai kofta, (which comes with bowl of rice) 1 Naan and 1 Tandoori Roti. Everything was tasty. We ended up taking half gravy and the bowl of rice at home. 1 star less because I prefer the malai kofta north style little on sweet side different from the paneer butter masala type gravies. Otherwise it was good. Tandoor roti was little more crispy but naan was very nice and soft not chewy.

Wonderful food. Always try the sweet desert in the end as it is heavy and make your stomach full. My favorite was chicken biryani, masala chai, vegetable karahi, and butter naan. I ate the buffet. If you like cold beverage then mango juice is good too. I tried almost everything. The tandoori chicken is good too. I spent $18.39 for dine in buffet

Had the lunch buffet here on a Tuesday. Most of the items tasted good, except for the egg biryani which was somewhat dry. However, my main disappointment was with the paper plates, styrofoam cups and plastic cutlery that were provided in place of porcelain/steel plates, cups and silverware.

Poor standards of food hygiene and worst customer service. Buffet only had few items, which were not tasty at all. They provide cheap plastic plates to eat yet they charge $22 per person. Not worth at all. You should go to somewhere else if you don’t want to ruin your appetite. We came on last Saturday, how could you find me in your system we were at the restaurant and paid the bill. Do you guys take personal information to pay the bill other than credit card?

Not any fancy place but good value for money. Food takes a bit longer to appear but it’s good enough. They can work on freshness of items a bit and customer service has suffered a lot during pandemic but it’s convenient price and comfortable location. Should try. I am coming back after a year to edit my review as Google won’t allow to post a new one, the place under renovation is now completed and lovely. Food is good as usual and good value for money. Decorations are traditional and minimalist, making an inviting ambiance. Should try the place with new vibes.
