This was our first time here. We are visiting from North Carolina, but if we lived here, we would bring ALL of our friends.

This is sister T Vivian’s spot. She discovered it after a Giants game just walking by and was craving sushi after a busy day shopping at Westfield; we decided to have sushi and she suggested Hakashi; we didn’t have a reservation. We arrived early enough and sat at the bar that’s all they had available. The hostess had suggested sitting towards the end of the bar however, the chef Julio asked us to sit across from him it’s was nice of him we order the Omakase and let the foodie food Carnival begin. Be patient this food experience is one you should not be in a rush why rush good food, good people good ambiance? Oh don’t forget the sake and be prepared to share your sake with your chef with your neighbors to the right and left we also met Emma who invited us to their new location in Walnut Creek opening soon also Emma turns out to be a Salvie like me another yay

I’m beyond impressed with hakashi. There’s something for everyone: this spot has some of the most underrated Omakase in the city as well while also having great casual options like rolls. I’ve been coming here for years for their lunch options but never thought to get their Omakase until now, and am so glad I did.

Food was really good taste and freshness. I think I had a junior sushi chef. OToro had a scale in it. The salmon belly was not sliced properly. It had too much chewy pieces in it. The chef should have cut around the tough lining of the fish. Overall, the freshness of the fish is most inportant which was great. Plus they gave us appetizer in the photo.

A few friends and I enjoyed an omakase dinner at Hakashi recently. We went with the $160 omakase meal along with a bottle of dry sake. The meal had a good balance to it. Between sets of some good nigiri, the chef threw in meat and amuse-bouche-ish dishes to change the tempo and flavors a bit.

Ok, this place is delicious AND fun. Sit at the bar for dinner, talk the head chef/owner Julio and ask for his recommendations. He’ll make something special for you off menu. Have to go!

Came for the omakase and it didn’t disappoint. For $160 pp, we got 14 nigiri and at least 7 other hot dishes (I lost count). The hot dishes were delicious and has good variety between meat, seafood, and soup. The nigiri was also quite good, especially with the different fish and flavor pairings they had. My only complaint is that some of the nigiri had too much wasabi for my liking. Overall, would definitely recommend getting omakase here if you’re in the mood for it.
