This must disappointing. Because it was very cute. I thought it was an adorable place. I got two very simple sushi rolls. Shrimp tempura. And a tuna avocado. This was the blandest sushi I’d ever had. Absolutely no flavor. The staff was friendly. But the food was nearly unedible. Even the sauce on the shrimp tempura just didn’t have any flavor. And I really wanted to like this place.

I called at 10 to place an order for pick up as online states the place closes at 10. The lady who answered the phone was rude and said “we’re closed” then muted herself and after hung up. They proceeded to not answer the phone and when I called from a different number, I asked if they closed at 10 or 10:30 because of the online hours and she yelled at phone “we’re closed” and hung up the phone. Was going to be my first time trying this restaurant, will not be ordering from here any longer and lady answering the phone needs to learn to be nicer. Also update your online hours!!

Always great food. I am surprised that there are so many negative reviews. I have never had a bad meal at Kotta and we have been dining in or ordering take out at least once a month for the last 7-8 years, so probably had over 100 meals at that place. Yes, the wait on Saturdays can be long but if you know it and byob you can’t go wrong. We only order sushi so can’t vouch for the hot food but sushi is simply the best.

Prices didn’t match prices listed on google. Price difference is 33% and more . Seems like an issue they’ve had for over a year based on reviews that still hasn’t been fixed. Sushi is not fresh tasting either. I tried but won’t try again.

Laid back atmosphere and really good food. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and can help you with whatever you might need. The sushi was fresh and really tasty. I went with a few friends and we ordered 5 rolls – probably could have used one more but it was a filling meal. It’s BYOB btw so grab something to drink before you go.

I ordered several roles for take out and they said 10 minutes. I gave them over 15 minutes and wasn’t ready but not a huge deal. The rolls were half the size I was expecting and the rice must have been from the day before b/c it was like rubber. The price on the internet was also wrong so for 3 simple roles it was $24 and I was expecting $18. I would rather go to the new Shoprite to get sushi. Not sure where these people giving 5 stars have been otherwise, but this is not a place i would recommend….sorry.

Kotta has amazing sushi!! I also love their tom yum. If you dine in, they do gorgeous designs with sauces on your plate. They ambiance is a little outdated and it shows because the restaurant is usually dead except for takeout orders. It’s my little Belmar secret to go there on busy summer nights because it’s the only place with great food that wont have a long wait.

Great sushi in a super casual atmosphere! Sushi is always fresh and we have been going to Kotta with our friends for 10 years. Tiffany and Sam are so accommodating with allergies and very flexible if you want to create a special roll. Best sushi!!
