Swiss/German traditional style cuisine. Amazing Friday Night Fish Fry as well. Plenty of options for kids and those seeking a burger and fries. Prime Rib on Saturdays. Great selection of local brews and a full bar if you like a brandy/whiskey old fashioned(highly recommend!! They make em just right!)

We stopped in for a Friday Night fish fry. The place was busy but service was efficient and seemed to be able to handle the demand well. Prices were fair and portion sizes were huge, I definitely didn’t leave hungry. The atmosphere feels like a true Swiss restaurant.

Yum! We had a fish fry on Friday night. Our girls ordered interesting sandwich combinations and loved them. Great soup and salad bar included with the dinner entrees we got. Great place!

Excellent fish. Staff was very friendly. Decent prices. Room was a little loud/echoed. Food took a little longer than expected but overall really good.

Definitely a true Swiss motif but the Schnitzel was very disappointing. We tried two different options, one chicken and one pork. The pork was bland and the panko breading tasted dry and overcooked. The chicken also was about same. The one positive was the red wine. Sorry, but better off eating in New Glarus.

I love this place! Best fish fry in Green County and I love the live accordion music on Fridays. The best soup and salad bar. Service is good, and the Swiss decor is fun. The Swiss Cream pie is a must!

The building itself is historic. I remember being a turner, with Rosie as our gymnastics coach. But this is about the restaurant. Don’t be confused by going downstairs to get there. Once you are there, you are transported back in time to a Swiss atmosphere with a lot of history. The food is outstanding! The staff very accommodating. We held a 90th for our dad and it was a very special time. The food spread was very delicious. The pulled pork was super juicy, the drinks great and stiff. Don’t go anywhere else and spend a ton of money for subpar food. Come to the Rathskeler and enjoy a great meal, great atmosphere and great company!

Great authentic Swiss food and historic atmosphere. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable in explaining any questions about authentic Swiss food. Amazing flavors you have to try, like the beer battered baby swiss. Real historic visit (just read the last 150 years on the walls) we will be back to try something else new to us on the menu when we visit the area again.

Cozy restaurant with good variety of food, drink & desserts. Lunch buffet is a great value. Friday night fish fry is one of the best in town & is accompanied by accordian music. The walls are covered with Swiss memorabilia.
