The kitchenette inside of W.T. Grants, where he worked for many years, was the inspiration for Ken Voltz to open his own kitchenette. February 3, 1970, Ken’s Taco Burger became a reality, located at 602 Center Street in Deer Park, Texas. The home-style cooking was a hit with the locals. Eventually, the restaurant relocated to the second location in the Boot Barn Shopping Center.
Ken’s son, Randy, built and opened the current location at 1122 Center Street in 1990. Ken’s has been serving the same delicious, homestyle food ever since. You can still find Randy interacting with customers, many of whom have become lifelong friends.

It was our first time going to the Deer Park location. As soon as you walk my shoes were sticking to the ground like when the kids drop juice and try to clean it up and don’t tell you.We were the only customers there during lunch. Food did take a long time, but I figured it’s made fresh. The place is beautiful though, I love the floor/tile color. There was only 1 waitress which she was great. I had to ask for napkins and utensils.. no biggie. The restroom was clean and smelled good. Not a place I’d recommend.

We were looking for a new place to try breakfast and found Ken’s Restaurant. The staff was great, we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. Trina was out waitress and we highly recommend you have her as your server. I ordered the breakfast special and my wife the breakfast sandwich. We were surprised by how fast we received our food. Hot, fast, and delicious. The prices were very reasonable. We wish they didn’t close at 3pm.

Very pleasant wait staff. Here’s the truth though. . . food bland unseasoned, under cooked okra. Watters Mac n cheese. Just being honest. Older crowd that didn’t seem very welcoming starting but no smiles. Food came out separate. They brought my mama food 10 mins before mine! Never again for me.

After living in Deer Park 15 years, I finally tried this place. And honestly it was quite delicious and our server was very attentive and nice. I had the breakfast ham steak and hunny had the waffle breakfast. We both enjoyed it. Will definitely be back .

Excellent food for the two of us. I had the beef tips this time and just like I remember, and still great. Well the pic is what’s left of the beef tips and my husband ate his as I am still getting used to taking pictures of my food. I Highly recommend this place from breakfast, burger’s to specials, you can’t go wrong with it. Staff is great too. Shorter hours, but if you want a great breakfast or lunch then definitely give them a try..
