I was hoping the food would be great but I was highly disappointed. The hushpuppies were well seasoned and the tomato relish was tasty. The chicken fried chicken was mostly crust and lacked flavor. The mash potatoes were cooked well. This was the worst mac n cheese I’ve had. The blackend grilled catfish and frog legs were cooked well but also lacked flavor. The fish tasted fresh. I would have preferred a little more seasoning on the catfish, but overall it was okay. The hushpuppies and catfish were the reason I gave this eatery 2 stars.

Had their Fried Shrimp. Way too much batter. At first glance, I thought that those 5 shrimps were huge, enormous really! I took One bite and it was mostly batter. I was disappointed and just altogether grossed out. I’m sure others like that, but it was excessive in my opinion. Not a good experience for me. Kudos on the hush puppies and Coleslaw, those were good.

First time going and Cameron made it a lovely experience! He had great suggestions and was quick to ask if we wanted refills. He’s very personable and the food was great! My elderly mother who won’t eat farm raised catfish, loved theirs and devoured it! We will be back!

We got there around 2:00, caught the lunch specials. Wife got the two fried pork chops and I got the 6 filet plate with two sides. The portions were a nice size. Food was great and service great. Saw them on the day triper. Will go back again. We have enough food for a couple more meals.

The hushpuppies and the French fries were the star of the show. The fish was paper thin and had no seasoning in the batter. The pinto beans were undercooked (they were crunchy). The fried okra was all clumped together and was doughy. The bright side to our visit was our waitress Amanda. She was super sweet. Very attentive and never let our glass go empty. Got our order out to us stright away. Good job Amanda.

Vernon’s Kuntry Katfish is one of those Conroe institutions that can be relied upon. The staff treat you like family and the food is always hot and plenty like at a family dinner. The Catfish and Chicken Tenders are our favorites. Mashed potatoes w/ cream gravy YUM! So when they welcome you with a big glass of sweet tea and a big plate of hush puppies be sure not to get a second plate for the dinner comes.

My friend and I shared a large catfish dinner with sweet potato fries. I had the pinto beans and She ordered a side of green beans as well. Everything was so good. Sorry the picture is not so good but it does show the beautiful catfish. It was the best!!

Other than Fox News being in the tv, this place absolutely delicious!!!! By far best catfish and chicken fried steak I have ever had. Hush puppies delish too. Absolutely worth stopping here.

Mt wife had their Crawfish Etouffee, and it was as good as any we can remember eating. The complimentary hush puppies and Pickled Green Tomatoes were tasty, too. I had a DELICIOUS Chicken Fried Steak with real mashed potatoes and homemade gravy and very well seasoned Green Beans. Their salads were fresh and crispy with excellent salad dressings. Every employee we dealt with was friendly, smiling, and helpful. We’re looking forward to the next visit already!
