The service at this restaurant is terrific! The server was extremely attentive and checked on us multiple times. In general, the food is just above average; it’s nothing to write home about but it wasn’t bad at all.(I had sushi and my niece had the honey walnut shrimp.) But some of their other food, like the dumplings, were really good. They looked and tasted like they were hand made in house. With their sushi roll combo, you can get a different soup even though the menu says it comes with miso soup. The prices for the dishes were very reasonable. Check out this place if you’re in the area.

I go to this restaurant about once every week. They are amazing. They usually have my food ready for me when I get there. The quality of there food is amazing for the price. I literally don’t order sushi from anywhere else unless there closed (Mondays) they remember me now and know when I’m picking up. There staff is amazing ( I think it’s mostly family but I’m not sure.) please eat here they are the best sushi place that I have found in the area!

Just moved to CT and was looking for a quiet Asian fusion restaurant. Ginger Root was perfect. I have to do gluten free and so Asian is always a good choice. The server was attentive and friendly. Portions were larger than expected. And loved the food. Overall five stars all around!

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I EVER ENCOUNTERED!!! Some of their Sushi rolls are shown as buy 1 get 1 free. I received only one of each I ordered as such. When I called to rectify the situation with the restaurant the man started yelling at me telling me I never ordered from their restaurant at all!! $90 spent!! We were celebrating our daughters 2nd birthday so I was not in a position to be able to leave my house and pursue the matter further. I was so taken back by the employees behavior!! I WIIL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN AND FULLY RECOMMEND NO ONE EVER ORDERS FROM HERE!!

Very generous with the amount of meat in the bento box. Redeemed an old coupon too. Friendly and quick service. The sushi roll is not that big so make sure you order something to go with it to make a complete meal. We had teriyaki chicken bento box, dynamite roll and sunny side up roll shared among two persons. The sunny side up is soooooo yummy!

The food here is turning for the worse. I don’t recommend anyone buying here. Several years ago before the pandemic hit foods were great. I even recommended coworkers. Things turn pretty bad during the pandemic where the food no longer tastes right. I don’t know if they have a new chef or what. Not enough salt or any salt at all in my most recent order over $60. A few times I spent over $110 but the food was literally garbage. The sweet & sour crispy fried fish was not a whole fish as in their menu picture but rather a substitute Talapia or cheap cat fish filet. Two pieces less than a pound for $20. Portion was tiny and stuffed with vegetables with a trace of any meat. The place is going cheap on everything. I made too many mistakes and this time it will be my last time spending money here. Sushi is a joke! It’s a Chinese takeout and hardly a place for Japanese cuisine.

First off; customer service was great! Our waiter was really nice and offered help whenever. They gave us free orange slices as well 🙂 Food wise, It was pretty good. I see improvement but that doesn’t mean the food wasn’t good. We ordered two rolls, rangoon, and lo mein. Everything came on time and the extras were nice. Next time I come here, I will try their Bento Box.
