Hands down the best sushi in Salem and the North Shore! Always fresh, with a nice balance of traditional maki and more extravagant variations. Edited to reply to owner’s response: No worries, I won’t ever order from your restaurant again. I could literally buy a bag of naked lettuce from the grocery store for less. Never in my life have I received a “salad” With. Nothing. On. It. NEVER. Poor customer service. Glad we brought your restaurant rating down by .1. Original post: I just received a delivery order from this restaurant and I was shocked to see that their “salad” has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON IT. It is a bunch of naked lettuce for $5.50!!!! I called and complained and was refused a refund. Customer beware!!!!!

The food is good, but I’m kind of done ordering from them. Ordered food at 7:25pm. They said it’d be delivered at 8:35pm. 70 minutes is a long time to wait, but whatever. 8:45 rolls around and the food has not arrived. Call the store and they say the delivery driver is just getting back from a run and my food will be there within 15 minutes. 20 minutes later, no food. Call the store again. They say the driver is out and food will be there in 5 minutes. The food arrived almost 15 minutes after that. All said and done, it took just under 2 hours to get a relatively small order delivered on a Tuesday night. This is far from the first time I’ve had an experience like this with Minzu. I don’t mind waiting for food, but I don’t like when I’m lied to.

Grateful they took our order for delivery close to their closing time. Quick and delicious rolls. Maki weren’t overstuffed w rice. The rolls were reasonably priced but not very long either. We ordered an extra just in case and that was the right amount. V good!

Today was the first day I’ve been back here since pre-covid, and it seems that little has changed! The sushi is as fresh and good as ever, food was ready to be picked up quickly. Great stop for dinner if you happen to be in the area.

Ordered a mixed green salad not knowing it was literally just lettuce and dressing with nothing else. Unhappy with the salad and surprised by the poor value, I asked if I could have it refunded and was denied. They need to make more clear in their menu that the item is just lettuce and dressing.

I don’t dish out 5-star reviews just for any place, but Minzu 100% deserves a 5-star+ rating for sure. Their sushi is super fresh and the appetizers are amazing!! The staff is always friendly and again an overall great restaurant. If you haven’t gone here, you really should check them out

There are really options for vegetarians and folks who don’t eat sushi fish like me. I had the shrimp tempura, the vegetarian roll and the sweet potato roll. The sweet potato is surprisingly not sweet potato ish and tastes like a sweeter shrimp tempura. It’s a great place to take someone who wants to take the sushi game a bit slower and build up their palate.
