I recently celebrated my friend’s birthday at Donna Jean in San Diego, and it was absolutely amazing! Not only was the food incredibly delicious, but it was also all vegan and made with fresh ingredients. The staff was fantastic, and the overall experience was unforgettable. The pizza taste and crust were unbelievable… I can’t explain how well everything was cooked! The desserts were out of this world! Only complaint is the stuffed shells were not enough food. But so amazing… Highly recommend pizza over pasta, but the pasta was delicious, just not enough for big fat me.

I’ll start off on a positive note: the fungazi was delicious! The garlic fries were delicious. The hot shrooms are more of a personal thing: weren’t cooked all the way, drenched in oil, and too hot but again those are personal opinions.

I had brunch with my wife and daughter recently at Donna Jean. Donna Jean is 100% vegan, but well worth a try even if you aren’t vegan. The Banker’s Hill area is a great neighborhood for vegans. The vibe is super chill and they have various outdoor and indoor seating. My wife and I had the Motherload, which is soy based “egg” dish with an amazing biscuit and even better potatoes. My daughter had the cavatelli which she felt was better than normal pasta and she really loved the dish. We also had the “cheese” cake for desserts, which is a cashew based cheese and was a large portion and tasted really good. I rated 5 stars because of the food, but the bathrooms have a lot to be desired, dirty and you need a code, and the speed of service was marginal, it was hard to get our water and coffee refilled. The positives far outweigh any challenges, I we will definitely be back.

Delicious and unique! Loved the food here and the atmosphere. Great service too. Prices are a bit higher but it’s definitely worth it. Got a kale pizza with hot honey and a classic cheese, both were delicious. Also got the cheese platter starter, the goat cheese was awesome! The patio was intimate and relaxed. Would definitely be back.

A vegan Pizza Place? I too was skeptical but after my fiancé and I ate here our doubts were mostly tarnished. The potato appetizer was surprisingly tasty and the Four Horseman Pizza was wonderful as well! The soft “cheese” on the pizza however wasn’t my cup of tea and I opted to remove it. The only reason Donna Jean gets 4 stars is the restaurant wasn’t busy yet it took quite some time for us to get attention from the waitstaff. The hostess that ended up helping us was very nice and I’d definitely come back here again for a vegan pizza experience.

Very good food. You can’t even tell what you’re eating is vegan. The flavors are deep and decadent. Pizzas are light and fluffy. Saladas and super tasty.
