Ok, I was torn on this one and settled at a 4 since 3.5 isn’t available. The vibe for a Saturday night was cool. The music was bumping, and the atmosphere was loud (a little too loud for my liking), but for a restaurant that didn’t give off that kind of vibe, I’m not complaining.

Made the mistake of trying to visit the North End on a beautiful Fall Saturday evening in Oct. It was jam packed. All restaurants had a long wait or required reservations. Stumbled on Libertine and as luck would have it there were two spots at the bar despite a wait for a table.

Very laid back environment. The calamari was decent but it felt like it was missing a sauce or a lemon. The shrimp risotto and chicken parm were very tasty. The starting bread was strange to me as it was almost like wonder bread and butter. Overall the food was good but I don’t think I’d go back for the price point.

What a wonderful spot for dinner! Let me start by saying that we were from out of town visiting Boston for a family reunion. After touring the city on the most hottest day ever, we wanted to have a meal altogether as this was some family member’s last night in Boston. We obviously knew that it would be a challenge to find a restaurant that would seat our party of 27 people on such short notice. So after a few (not so friendly) phone calls to North End restos, we called Libertine and they were happy to take us. When we arrived we were greeted with such kind and friendly staff. The servers made us feel comfortable and were very accommodating to any questions we had. Even the owner Arlene made us feel super welcomed and treated us like we were part of their family.

My wife and I had dinner at Libertine tonight. With reservations we were seated quickly. Our server was Austin and he was fantastic. Friendly and knowledgeable about what to have. We split mussels with white wine sauce and then had shrimp Mozambique which we shared. The flavor was amazing and service was excellent. Great time in the North End. Met the owner on the way out and thanked him and he was so grateful.

Great experience here! Our waiter was so friendly and helpful, and gave us the recommendation of the night – calamari. Definitely the best calamari I’ve ever had and I would go again just to eat it. Octopus fritters were also amazing and I definitely recommend. I got the shrimp scampi risotto (I like seafood in case you haven’t noticed) and the shrimp tasted so fresh and was perfectly cooked. My date had the chicken parm and it will definitely fill you up! It wasn’t too busy so getting a reservation is easy, but I can’t wait for this place to get more popular! Will be recommending this place for anyone wanting Italian food and not knowing where to start in North End.

Comfortable is an understatement. The owners and the workers take such good care of you, and the food and drinks are delicious. Cant complain about anything. My bartender Lucas actually piled my chair out to seat me. Both the chef and hostess came to our table to check on us. I had the bolognese. it was amazing different from any I had in the North End. My boyfriend had the marischda and it was full of seafood. Overall great experience.

This was our college graduation dinner. First off let me just say I made a reservation months out and they required me to make a deposit, very odd. Secondly, the overall experience with staff was 5 stars, unfortunately the food was horrible, Pasta dishes came out all ice cold, scallops were horribly fishy tasting, the chicken was rubber. As I am moving into the north end, I am glad I tried this place, but will never return again, there is too many places that have much better service and I would be happier to spend hundreds of dollars at for a dinner. *** After leaving this review they defrauded my credit card and added a charge that was not there before, this is absolutely unacceptable ***

I heavily debated 5 stars. If 4.5 stars was an option, I would’ve picked that.

Server & setting excellent! The food quality so poor; Overly salty veal, dry cod, bolognese bland & strange that pasta was not the noodles ordered on a couple of dishes. I guess why every other restaurant around us was busy! Only one other table seated by 6pm
