Our first time here! We fell in love. Just like mama use to make. Choices of salsas (we found our favorite) flavors were amazing. Even asked for a taste of chili verde and they were very accommodating. I like mine better but there’s was very good. Can’t wait to come back. He loves jalapeno!!!

Service was great, fast friendly. Pricing was reasonable. Food was okay, I got shrimp tacos with a side of rice and beans.The tacos were small portion but delicious, good flavoring little spicy but good. The rice and beans didn’t have very much flavor or salt for them being mexican and it was small portion size. My hubby got a asada torta which was okay, it didn’t have alot of meat in it, or flavor, the bread was fresh and soft. He was okay with them but we’ve had better. My daughter got a plain asada taco which were okay for her, she’s a kid and a picky eater she enjoyed it. They were small portion size.

Got the Fajitas. I thought it lacked taste and the chicken was too chewy. Nice sit down area. The salsa was pretty good and allows for mixing your preferred sauce with a variety of additional sauces. If they labeled the sauce area, it would be better. With so many restaurants in the area, this trip would not make me want to return. Marinade is great to get flavor in fajitas but I rarely find restaurants doing this.

Decent food but incredibly expensive for small portions. 45 dollars for two burritos and a side of rice and beans. The bathrooms were filthy, not even paper towels were available. The server grabbed my babies face, and while I understand the cultural differences it was inappropriate. The salsa bar was less than exciting. If you want to get your moneys worth just hit up the taco truck by ace hardware.

Went here out of nowhere. Never seen the place before. The food is GREAT! Wife and I ate everything. Rice and beans are on point! Chicken and steak fajitas were very flavorful, and the chicken enchiladas are spicy but in a flavorful way. Quick and friendly service.

I don’t like giving a low rating to anyone, so I usually just give reviews when they’re good. In this case, I feel it is necessary to warn people about the food and strange patron who was allowed to sit at a table and talk insessivly about his criminal acts and his mental illness, when it was apparent that he wasn’t there to eat. My husband had to go to the back room to tell the employee about the unstable man sitting near us, the employee said he comes in all the time, and is harmless. I wonder if they know what scary things this sick patron is saying…non-stop! Now, the food, I had the Lingua tacos a few days earlier…..they were very good, so I brought my husband there this day. My lingua was rotten-tasting and not chewable, therefore, I couldn’t eat it. My husband’s chili verde was fatty and tough, and so acidic, that it gave him heartburn. We never seen the employee come out of the back room. I had to choose a tip amount when I paid before we received our food. That was $29 thrown away. I don’t recommend La Esmeralda.

Came in today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! This is my first time trying this restaurant and I’m happy with everything. I ordered their special which for today was 2 enchiladas with beans and rice. My friend ordered their chicken fajitas and that also came with rice and beans. We ordered michaladas, which were about average, but the real star here was the delicious food and their fresh chips and salsa bar! Staff is friendly and everything was very clean. This will be my go to stop for Mexican food when I’m in Jackson. Thank you for making such good quality food.

I had eaten here before and it was fine. I asked for a taco my first time and was given a crunchy taco which had no salsa. I had assumed it would be the same and it wasn’t. I went in and order tacos, they gave me two street tacos heavy with cilantro and salsa. Due to medical reasons I can not have anything spicy, unfortunately the salsa was too spicy for me and thus inedible. I wish I knew there was a choice or had been asked what type of tacos I had wanted. I will not be returning.
