This place is just OK. It took 30 min for 3 sandwiches over the counter. The prices are high seeing that nothing at all comes with the sandwiches – the portion and quality is average. The meat was on the dry side – no au jus. The space hasn’t been updated in 30 years – looking old.

Probably my last time going here… every time I ask for a RARE roast beef.. Bloody RARE if they have it. They haven’t even come close to a medium… it has become obvious they pre cut slices and just re heat.. not fresh cut beef on wecks… a major disappointment. Please see pictures.. not even color from Au Jus on the roll…

Two words. WOW WOW. I have added this place to my must go back places. Lived in WNY most my life and sorry to say have never been here before. The Beef on Weck is amazing. Wife loved the pull pork. The home made fries are the best I ever had outside of home-cooked. If you live or just visiting the area this place is a must visit.

If you are looking for the best roast beef on kimmelweck, go to Steve’s. Their roast beef is the best. We have also had the turkey sandwich, the BBQ pork, and I have had the chicken fingers before. All of their food is the best quality, for a decent price. The staff workers are super friendly and very helpful. Super comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Steve’s

The staff was wonderful, so this isn’t about them. The food itself uses very obviously poor quality ingredients. We were cracking up over the plastic 8oz Dixie water cup that my husband’s beer came in. I’m not picky, but I found everything inedible.

Steve’s Pig & Ox Roast is a place that I’ve been going to since I was a child. I currently live three and a half hours east near Utica, NY and I still make a point of stopping on my travels and have even made trips out to Steve’s SPECIFICALLY because they’re that amazing. You can’t go wrong with a Beef on Weck and their curly fries are to die for. This is the place where family traditions have started years ago, and will continue through my own child, who already has memories of lingonberry juice and pickles with his Beef on Weck. (also seen in multiple travel books related to food and Buffalo in general, it’s a must see, but bring cash! They’re cash only, but they have an ATM available for your convenience.)

Found the dated decor to be charming and added to the experience. It’s cash only so a bit annoying. Got a beef sandwich and curly fries. Curly fries were bomb but beef sandwich lacked any real taste. Tasted like literally roasted beef without anything really discernible flavoring. It’s fine but I probably wouldn’t go back.
