Business trip took us to San Antonio to meet up with some friends. They are regulars at this superb steakhouse. I am very very very picky on my Ribeye steaks and this was spot on. They have a green peppercorn sauce that pairs up so well with the steak. Our sides were mashed potatoes, a scrumptious Mac-n-cheese, & Brussels sprouts. We started with their incredible Carpaccio with the drizzled balsamic glaze!!! Yuuuum! The ambiance was peaceful & elegant. So inviting we stayed over 3 hrs.

A great steakhouse experience! If our service was a little better and our steaks a little more fresh, this dinner would’ve been closer to a 5 star experience. Unfortunately, I felt like we waited a little too long for each interaction with the staff and our waiter, leading us to wait for drinks/refills. Besides that though, all of the food we ordered was very good. For starters, the Grilled Tequila Shrimp was delicious. The flavor and amount of the sauce provided was perfect and definitely left us wanting more. The Potato Crusted Calamari was solid, with the peppers and sauce providing a good mix of flavors and textures. The steaks were all cooked perfectly and had great crusts, but came out more room temp than piping hot. That threw us off a bit, but not enough to disappoint the meal. The side sauces were hit or miss, with the Roquefort being the better of the two and the Cognac Pepper being more lackluster. The side dishes of Lobster Risotto and Susie’s Famous Mashed Potatoes were both good, but not great. All three of our desserts were tasty and gave us a tasty end to our dining experience. The Chocolate Mousse Cake that came with one of our Restaurant Week orders was a nice mix of textures, with the candied pecans and chocolate chips on top making each bite better than the last. The Half Baked and Chocolate Tres Leches Cake were amazing and ended up being nice compliments to one another. Worked out perfectly for our group, as some wanted a more chocolate-heavy dish and others wanted something more balanced. Overall, it was a pretty solid dinner. I’ll likely look into other options next time, but would still recommend it for anyone looking for a nice steak experience.

Outstanding meal and first class service! I ordered a 10oz fillet which was great and seared perfectly (better than the 30 day aged fillet at their competitor one block away, fyi). The soup of the day was a beef soup, which was so good I stopped myself from drinking from the bowl to get the last bit, which isn’t classy at all, but I almost did it. The jalapeño mac & cheese was extremely flavorful. Cinnamon ice cream was delicious. Overall I walked away feeling my money was well spent! Solid five star restaurant.

I went here to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday a few weeks ago. I frequent Kirby’s often but this time was my best experience yet. Make sure to get the jalapeño max and cheese! We had the pleasure of having Peter as our server. He was really amazing, very kind, and provided the best service I have had at Kirby’s. If you have the chance to sit in Peter’s section, know that you will have a delightful experience with someone who actually seems like he loves his job and is happy to be there. Sometimes the servers have not always been the best.. one was once very condescending our entire meal 🙁 we did not feel welcomed during that dinner. So stick with Peter! He’s amazing!

Tried this place because it was on the list for restaurant weeks and I must say my friend nor I was very impressed with this place as far as the food goes. We were very excited because we really wanted to try this place. The ambience and setting of the restaurant is lovely. Let’s start with our drinks and appetizer. Our drinks were just ok nothing memorable. My friend had the buffalo shrimp as her first course and the shrimp was good but the slaw under it had absolutely no flavor. We then had the fried potatoes and what can I say about it it was very very crispy and I think way to crispy to enjoy and something made it very salty. Not sure if it was the cheese or not. Now onto our meals. I had the blackened salmon and unfortunately it was tasteless no seasoning at all. I do appreciate that it was well done and moist. The orzo was supposed to be some type of flavor of citrus and there was none. My friend had the filet mignon the 7oz and it was way smaller than she thought it would be and it was also really bloody when she asked for it to be medium well. She said the mashed potatoes was very very salty. So she did not enjoy her food. Lastly we had dessert. She had the lemon meringue tartlet and presentation was good but the flavor was definitely lacking. I had the the cinnamon peach empanadas and it was nothing like what I imagined it to be. The dough tasted like it wasn’t cooked all the way and it seemed it needed more flavor to the filling like cinnamon. Overall we would not go back to this place and would not recommend it because of the lack of flavor to the food. The service was really good, but that’s about it.

Haven’t liked the service in the bar the last 3 visits. I ask for a certain burboun and I get told the price… please…..you with the beard should treat all customers the same. We used to come here pretty often but it’s less and less I think tonight will be the last. Good luck to you I truly believe you are sick of your job…move on
