Was looking for something delicious to eat with my family, and came to the right place. I had the #1 burger of DeKalb County with a side of fries, and a Coca Cola to drink, I also had a cheese cake for dessert. The waitress who took my order was very helpful, and the building looked like a very nice yet small restaurant. The only thing I have to complain about is about how long it took for our food to arrive, but considering how good it was I could’ve waited longer. Everything on the menu was the most affordable I have seen for a restaurant anywhere in Smithville, for 5 very good food options it was only 60 dollars. Spectacular food, spectacular service, spectacular atmosphere, and spectacular prices. Expect to see me again.

honestly, all in all an awful place to go to eat. the waitress that served us had a nasty attitude when we didn’t eat the food because it was overcooked and hard. she never came back to the table after i asked for extra steak sauce. was just not a great experience and i’m glad i didn’t bring my kids to pay 12 dollars for a plate they wouldn’t have eaten.

Everything is always pretty good here. Only complaint I have is all the steak sauces and condiments are off brand. If they offered real Heinz 57 or A1 steak sauce it would be 5 stars.

Gave Kilgore’s another try last night. Again me and my son and daughter-in-law were ignored. We got drinks one time no refills. My son had finished eating his cheeseburger before his wife got her cheeseburger then they were both through eating before I even got my food. If you go into an establishment for a family dinner you expect the family to eat all at one time. Server never came back to see if we needed anything, no refills . I have always loved Kilgore’s but the last two times I have been treated this way and I am an excellent tipper because I was a server many years ago. So no more Kilgore’s. Love the food but they need to get some new servers

Enjoyed a catfish meal with two sides… They had a special of a choice of catfish with Cajun spices or battered and fried catfish… we tried both and enjoyed them. The restaurant is fairly plain but the food is great. Trudie was our server… very friendly and helpful.

I got the food through the drive thru. I got chicken and dressing, mac n cheese, and green beans. Everything was delicious with one exception, the cornbread which was disappointing. It was tasteless and dry. Besides that I would definitely suggest this place. They have daily specials as well as a full menu and prices are decent.

The staff looked to still be in highschool with not an adult in sight. The food had no taste. no flavor at all. Was the first time Ive ate there, was told they have good food but after tasting it I won’t return. Waist of my money and time. The floors looked as if they haven’t been swept all day. Most of staff spent more time talking to each other about personal stuff and on their phones then tending to the needs of the restaurant and customers.

We had never eaten here before but had heard it was good. We both got the special, fried catfish with 2 sides. I got fried green tomatoes and white beans, my mom got white beans and fries. I was honestly shocked when I tasted the white beans. You hardly ever order white beans in a restaurant anymore and find them seasoned! They tasted amazing! The tomatoes were delicious as well. The catfish was perfect and we both agreed that it was some of the best we’ve had. Our waitress, Faith, was really nice and super helpful with any questions we had. She checked on us several times but didn’t annoy us. We asked about dessert and she recommended the banana pudding hands down. She was right! It was delicious. On top of all of this, the price was only $22! And we got 3 pieces of fish, 3 hush puppies, I got 4 fried green tomatoes and a bowl of white beans! My mom got the same with fries in place of the tomatoes. Plus an order of banana pudding! Incredible!

They cooking those chicken on a stick too crispy these days need ol John bk in there frying them up personally lol other than that food is freak service is awesome atmosphere relaxed and clean. I’ve loved kilgores since the original location and stay a dedicated fan.
