Unfortunately this experience was very disappointing. The decor was nice and had a good feel to it, but the service and food really fell short. Went in with my girlfriend Friday night. We ordered 2 beers on draft and got served bottles. She ordered a veggie burger and I ordered the veggie panini. Her sandwich was dry and had no flavor and it was missing the mayo she specifically asked for. Fries where warm and lifeless. I specifically asked for no mushrooms on my sandwich and it came with mushrooms. They took it back and replaced it. The sandwich came back cut into 3 odd shaped pieces with a small piece of mushroom left over. The sandwich had no flavor to it. I ordered hush puppies as my side, and they were very dry and heavy. I saw a bus boy wearing a bandana drinking a beer as he crossed the room. The DJ was awful, playing music from one extreme to the other. Owners should save their money and just play good music on a loop. Unfortunately not a good experience in any way. It was Friday night around 10pm and it was dead. The cook came out to apologize for the mushrooms which was nice, but his uniform was filthy. This place needs an overhaul. Keep the theme, train the employees, serve good food and have a good strong manager in place. This place has potential but has a long way to go. I hate to see any business go under. Good luck.

I went to the Galley for the first time last week and thoroughly enjoyed the staff, the atmosphere, and the food. Then i visited twice more within a week !!! Every staff person has been very friendly and made me feel welcomed. The tables outdoors next to the canal offer peaceful scenery to enjoy while eating. And the food is delicious. I especially love the homemade shrimp corn bisque; thick, flavorful and awesome. I havent tried the NE clam chowder yet but looking forward to it !!!! Treat yourself to a peaceful relaxing evening at the Galley !!!

My favorite place for a Fish Fry. On nicer days, you can eat canal side, and enjoy the sites. Decor is kitchy, but fun. Pretty decent food for an inexpensive meal. Our waitress, Tammy, is attentive and very pleasant. I’ve never had a bad meal here. In fact, the fish fry I just had may rank in the top five of meals I’ve had. I just really enjoy this play.

We had an excellent Burger there the other night. Really cool atmosphere. Quick Service and good beer and wine. I have celiacs and the chef even came out to talk to me about it before he prepared my food.

My experience here has typically been average. Service is average, food is average, prices are average, but the location is great. Sit outside in the back on the canal if weather permits. I give it four stars because if you get average plus a great view then its better that three stars. Will probably continue to be a repeat customer.

Maybe the worst lunch I ever had. We sat and waited for a server, finally he came and took our drink order. We waited forever for menus then waited another forever for a different waiter to take our order. I ordered the special, listed on the board, my 3 friends ordered different things and we ordered 2 appetizers. After another forever wait, the waitress tells me that what I ordered was yesterdays special, not todays. I ordered something else, and then promptly my friends order arrived, minus the appetizers. And one of the tree was the wrong thing. After- you guessed it- forever, the appetizers arrived. After my friends had finished their meals, my order finally arrived. The smothered chicken sandwich. Inedible. It looked like it had been burned to blackness on one side, and the cook simply turned the bread over so the burned part was inside the sandwich! The burned coating fell off and was floating around inside the sandwich. I literally could not eat it. The waitress took that off the check, and didn’t charge us for our iced teas. clearly the had some kind of staffing problem but they did not handle it well. They should have turned people away until they had a capable cook and enough wait staff. We will not be back.
