Jitters… Where Coffee Is An Art Menu – Eagle River, AK

Type : Coffee shop

Location : Eagle River, AK

Jitters opened for business in 1994. Owners Dennis and Linda Johnson with their two daughters, Briana and Shanda are the family behind the scenes. The Johnsons moved to Eagle River in 1971 and began raising kids, teaching school, working in a river rafting business at one time, running an art gallery/gift shop, and enjoying the beauty Alaska has to offer. Their extended family reaches far into the community. Many customers now remember Dennis as their 6th grade teacher. These days, you will likely see Johnson grandchildren working behind the bar or enjoying an Italian Soda while studying with friends.

Awesome place, came in for the first time yesterday to meet a friend. Drove from mid town Anchorage today for the customer service, coffee, and quiche!

Seems like great reviews but for me- not so much. The environment is cozy and the staff are quick at getting orders in. We stopped in while waiting on an oil change. It was busy just after 11am. I was so bummed there’s no hot food. Cold burritos we’re actually gross. They were still cold and falling apart after 2mins in the microwave. I felt bad we wasted money on 3 of them just to put them in the trash. My coffee was okay but everyone else seemed happy with their mocha and hot chocolates. We also got a blueberry scone that was good but nothing to rave about. ‍♀️

Wonderful coffee shop. There is plenty of seating in a nice, cozy environment. The staff is very friendly, and the pastries and drinks are very good. My friend and I got a cinnamon roll and a raspberry scone with our coffee drinks, and they were both very delicious. They also have savory food items. Lovely little coffee shop.

Looking for a breakfast stop, we chose Jitters based on the reviews, and OMG they were spot on!! The coffee, burritos, quiche, bagels, and cinnamon rolls were fabulous. There was a bit of a line when we arrived, but it moved quickly, and we had no problems finding a table for 5. If we lived in Eagle River, I would be at Jitters EVERY morning!

Had the lavender fields special (lavender matcha) and the vegetarian Breakfast Burrito. The latte was pretty good and so was the burrito. The burritos and pastries are grab and go, there’s a microwave at the dirty dish station. It had a cute note saying how long to microwave different goodies, and sure enough, in 1.5 minutes my burrito was perfectly hot. You can get salsa and/or sourcream with the burritos, and there are plenty of other options for breakfast too.

Oh man this place was nice and relaxing. The food and drinks were top notch. I ordered my usual Chai with oat milk and I had a raspberry cinnamon roll. Man, both were so good. I was able to find a table and I was glad they had the clean / dirty signs for the tables so customers knew if the table was clean or not. Just a fun place.

Baristas are always nice, food is delicious and the moose mud pie is AMAZING. There is a 50/50 chance your coffee will either be delicious with a good brewed shot of espresso or it will taste straight like poop and old coffee.

We stopped by Jitters after a short hike. Found the place, which is located next to a large gift shop, on Google. It was pretty busy, but there’s tons of seating. The place was bright and open and warm, staff friendly and coffee and pound cake delicious.

Amazing caffeine fix! This was our last Alaskan mud drink before flying home from our vacation. On our layover in Seattle we had to settle for Starbucks, corporate coffee has a lot to learn from Alaska.
