We are a scratch kitchen restaurant housed in an automotive garage that dates back to the 1940s.
During that pre-interstate period of America, people and families often traveled across storied highways such as Route 40, Lincoln Highway or Route 66, encountering regional foods and a variety of cultural influences along the way.
In that spirit, our seasonal menu is a ‘road trip’ that explores some of those mid-western, southern, south-western, and western dishes and techniques. Just like a garage, we tinker with and adjust them to put together something that will make your trip to see us memorable.
Based on 334 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.4 stars. Price $$

We’ve been wanting to try this out, and we finally did! They do take reservations, in case it is going to be a busier night when everyone is not on vacation, then you will need them.

Nice open, relaxing atmosphere and dog friendly. Food came out rather quickly once ordered and it was delicious with vegetarian options as well.

Had a lovely time sitting outside enjoying a sour from the taps, which was a nicely balanced list. The food menu had lots of delicious options and they feature something new every month. Great spot to catch some live music, good beer and great food. Fall and winter friendly with a fire pit outside!

This place is aesthetically pleasing & the food is just ok. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich but the chicken thigh they use just doesn’t taste good. My wife ordered a salad, however it was small and they forgot the bacon. We ordered the toffee cake for desert but our waitress brought an ice cream sandwich. Overall, the service was average, the beer selection was vast, but the below average food + mistakes give it a 3/5 for me.

I’m visiting PA from out of state and I meant to have Rear End be stop 1 of 3 while going into Pittsburgh but I never made it past here! Great vibe, good people, great bar setup and awesome staff but that Chicken Bacon Ranch sammich… HOLEY SMACK! It had more face slapping coverage than my whole hand!

The atmosphere is fun, but it can get very noisy and when the garage “doors” were opened, it was quite hot even though we were sitting inside.

Out of this world fried chicken! Can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches, and the garage/ auto shop vibe is super neat. I swapped the fries for a side salad and (unlike a lot of side salads) it was actually really robust and tasty. The rest of my group ordered the Mac and cheese (sooo yummy), the buffalo sandwich, and the Philly cheese. All terrific!

Food is great and pricing is fair. Service could be quicker. I’ve been there during a slow lunch and busy Friday dinner. Servers need to be more attentive, put hair up, and practice better hygiene.

I wasn’t going to post a review but I feel like this needs to be said. I’ve had the food here I think 7 times, all take out for lunch. The first and second experience was great. Food was spot on delicious. I got a side salad with my second order and it had hair in it, no big deal I don’t always eat salad anyhow and I know stuff happens I get it. But my third and fourth lunch take out two days in a row I got the overhaul burger, again fantastic taste wise but one burger had a huge hair in it inside the cheese when I took a bite it was stringing from my mouth to the burger still attached, I spit it out and threw the whole meal away. Then the next day I thought I’ll try it again and same freaking thing AGAIN with hair in my cheese but this time seemed like it was in the meat as well. So I went up there and noticed a man cooking with long hair and no hair net or gloves handling the food. I’m frustrated because the food tastes fantastic and I keep wanting to try it again but come on, three times with hair?? Unacceptable. I’m posting now because a friend of mine had hair in his food recently that I just heard about today. Please try to tell your cooks to be more aware of their hygiene and handling food without a hair net or atleast tie it up or wear a hat idk. I might try it again today for lunch well see.

The food was amazing!! The staff was wonderful, Renee N was our waitress and our drinks never emptied, our food was out in a timely manner, and she checked on us enough not to be over bearing which we appreciated. We got the pretzel bites, fried cauliflower with sweet Thai chili sauce ( to die for), overhauled burger with POUTINE garage fries and chicken tenders and plain fries. I have to admit for my burger being well done it was still very juicy. We left with doggie bags I’d say that it was a win win.
