This is my first visit and the fish was freshly prepared. The sides were ok. The Mac and cheese is different not what I expected taste like knorr cheddar broccoli and the sweet potatoes are mashed . I give it 3 stars because I can’t give it a 2.5 the sweet potatoes taste canned and the green beans as well just spiced up with some chili flakes. Oh and the cornbread was hard

The food was delicious!! My taste buds felt like they were dancing with joy. The chicken was well seasoned and very flavorful, as was the collard greens and rice pilaf. The portions were generous, and the food was also pleasantly hot (temperature wise) which made it feel that much more like food that is good for the body and soul. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for good tasting, quality food in Lancaster.

X marks the spots upscale soul food at the southern market in Lancaster GOT IT I got fried shrimp with baked macaroni and cheese when I say it’s perfect it’s perfect and they have this homemade mango lemonade I need to speak to whoever is in the back whipping up this cornbread because babyyyy you are BLESSED 10 OUT OF 10 my camera sucks but you have my word!!

X Marks the Spot just recently opened in the new Southern Market Food Hall. If you grew up eating Southern food but haven’t had it in awhile, this is the place to go that will take you back to simpler times! The food is amazing and you get great portions. The cornbread is a must try for anyone that likes a great cornbread!! And the fried fish is so delicious, sometimes I stop by just for that!! Just take a look at that plate!!

My family an I decided to check this place out for the first time. First impressions were good. Atmosphere was welcoming and the area was very clean. The young lady was kind and kept us up on the fish being cooked. I had the fish Mac and yams an a side of shrimp. First off the shrimp was out of this world nice and flavored and fresh. The fish was awesome. Now my yams were ok just a bit dry for my taste buds. My Mac was also a bit dry but flavored. My husband had baked chicken, collards and rice pilaf. He said the chicken was a bit dry but tasty, he thought the rice was very very good. I tasted his greens, good flavor but reminded me of glory greens because of the small cuts. Overall a good place to eat. I would go back

They are my favorite in Southern Market! Hands down the best mac and cheese I have ever had! The fried fried shrimp and fried fish are both incredible and the portion sizes are excellent! You get a lot for your money. You will not be disappointed if you eat here. Very friendly staff and fantastic food. I look forward to it every time!
