Wow this food was sooo good. Whenever we are in town, it is a must to stop here. The kids chicken nuggets were even excellent. Charming little place. They are super excited to serve you. I love the steak enchiladas.

Cute Mexican restaurant. We asked some of the locals where a good restaurant was that they would eat at and this restaurant was mentioned by several. We ordered tostadas and enchiladas and they were delicious. I also thought that their salsa and chips were very good. Most Mexican restaurants just serve you salsa. This one also served some refried beans and salsa with their chips. I noticed that several people that came also ordered hamburgers, so there is more than just Mexican food there to choose from. I will stop here again on my next trip.

Get the Gonzales with steak and shrimp for 2 people. This food is out-of-this-world TASTY! The staff here is so attentive and friendly. We are so happy we ate here during our stopover. Fantastic!

Great overall vibes from the friendly host greeting you as you walk in to the eccentric server you can tell El Jaliciense is a genuine family owned and operated restaurant. The chips and salsa is very tasty I’m sure it’s homemade. I ordered the Molcajete with beef and chicken fresh ingredients with a unique delicious flavor. Also ordered at our table were their enchiladas and steak fajitas. You can tell everyone was pleased with their dinner. Well worth the stop if you’re in the area and hungry.

Ordered a taco salad with ground beef. The beef was well seasoned but very greasy. Sliced pickles oddly topped the delicious crusty taco bowl shell. Husband had macho burrito, was large and meh. The pricing is super low though and rustic cabin like atmosphere. Would stop in again if in the area.

My wife’s shredded beef was delicious. The pollo a la diabla was nicely spicy, but the sauce tasted kinda ketchup-like. Not bad… just odd.

I could eat here every day. The servers are always so nice. The Molcajete is so good and the portion is massive. The machaca was amazing. And I always love gettting a couple of taquitos for the table to share.

Beans were SO good and authentic. Mostly an American take on Mexican food, but tasty. We went for dinner and it was super busy. The only open tables were still dirty with beans from the previous guests smeared on the table. (Hence the 4 stars) It was busy and they seemed short staffed. Chile relleno burrito was tasty and not spicy at all. We picked up to go on our way to the beach so the food was good and service was quick that day.

We should have known when we walked in that our experience would be marginal at best. Sign said “seat yourself” yet while there were empty tables, none were cleared or clean. We finally got a table and the server merely moved some dishes and wiped it clean with a napkin. It got worse from there. Ordered fajitas, which were tasty, the only thing saving this review from being worse. Our food came out and the server just left it, with no tortillas and no plates. Tortillas finally came, but still no plates. Asked for two plates, server came back with one. Asked again for another plate and it took so long, that I ended up scraping off the sides plate and using it. Place was very dirty, several tables were never bussed, even though it was not busy. We finished and were told to pay at the register, but had no check. Went to register where we told cashier what table we were at. That meant nothing. I had to tell her what we had in order to pay. On a side note, a couple sitting across from us, who were local regulars, were completely forgotten after they got drinks and chips. Only us leaving alerted the server that they had never gotten to order. Decent food, but service and cleanliness need some serious work.
