Ok here goes.. So I wanted to try here for a long while. It was a bucket list of places to review. Having just finished a 5 mile hike with my wife we went here… Very hungry. It just opened for the day. Sam our waitress was super friendly kind and outstanding. Simply ordered 2 burgers and garlic parm fries but I can tell watching other roll in and order and sit and eat Sam was super attentive to all new and regular. But Sam and crew were awesome. I can tell they are appreciated. We will be back to try more food. The burgers and fries were very filling and afterwards me and my wife were full happy and ready for some rest… Thank you to Sam and the crew. You all are phenomenal

According to Reddit this was a must have burger for me to review. As I make my way around Vermont eating burgers and looking for what the state has to offer, I find myself at the Burger Bar. Let me tell you the burger I had did not disappoint at all. It was well seasoned, and the bun was dune up right. The special sauce was lip smacking with the tangy pickles that was also used in the fried pickles. Overall, it was a positive experience. I ate at Burger Bar way back when it opened. I was in college not too far from the restaurant, and the food was always incredible. Definitely one of the best burgers I’ve had in Vermont, and it always kept me coming back for more. I just went into Burger Bar tonight after moving back to the area to have it again after 3 years, and I’m pretty disappointed. We ordered the special, barbecue ranch tater tots, and the cheese wasn’t even melted. Our server brought out our appetizers WITH our dinner so we didn’t even have time in between. I got the bacon cheddar burger, and it wasn’t very remarkable. It was an average burger, and not as juicy and flavorful as it once was. The garlic parm fries I ordered were unexpected as they weren’t seasoned, it was just fries with a slight drizzle of garlic butter and some shredded parm cheese. Overall none of the food was BAD, per se, but it did disappoint. It seems as a lot has changed after 2 or 3 years and it hasn’t changed for the positive. If I ever need a decent burger and I’m in the area I might come back, but I no longer consider this one of the best places for a burger in Vermont.

Having a quick bite on the road is my favorite. The Burger Bar totally pays off. I order chowder and Philadelphia wrap. Nothing I can say, everything is Superb! Marty is friendly and accommodating. Will be back soon.

Ordered a burger and sweet potato fries for pick-up. Burger came with no condiments, so was super dry. The bun was soggy, so I picked off the bread and added my ketchup mustard and mayo to the burger itself. No options to add or take away anything in the to-go online ordering. I don’t eat onions, but there was no option to take them off, so I had to pick them off. Fries are bare necessities, so no salt or seasoning, just potatoes. If you need to order to-go, I would drive the 2 miles to Wendy’s for a better experience/burger. At least I get condiments standard (no upcharge and added on automatically). Plus, i could have asked for no onions and gotten it. My experience could have been great with some effort on Burger Barns part.

The Burger Bar is a rare discovery on the outskirts of Burlington. Some might say it’s a dive, but I’m inclined to say it’s a local treasure serving up a decent burger and fries where you can’t find much else. It was a quiet weekday visit that prompted me bellying up to the Bar for a sampling of what a nearby resident described as the best burgers in Chittenden County. (Claims like that are often disappointing, but this one was not.) I gave the Kahuna Burger a try — curious about a slab of pineapple on a slab of meat. At $12.99, the Kahuna is one of the priciest single burgers, but a bargain by any measure. It was juicy, messy, savory, and satisfying. The garlic-parm fries on the side were a nice complement of crispy and zesty. I truly enjoyed the entire plate and washed it down with a Mason jar Arnold Palmer. On the other side of the table, a perfectly prepared cheeseburger with a side of jalapenos and pickles was equally delish, and just as well cooked — with a hint of pink and hot juicy goodness. With a decent bar, house-made shakes, and a shallow dive feel (maybe it gets deeper after dark), the Burger Bar is a solid reason to get out of Burlington proper and indulge.

If I could give this place zero stars I would, and I’m shocked writing this since reviews from other people say different. The garlic parm fries we couldn’t even eat, because the garlic was so strong you couldn’t even enjoy them. Then the first cheeseburger was alright since it was an easy order of just cheese and extra pickles, but unfortunately I had to add cheese and add pickles to it. Then the second cheeseburger didn’t get any better since I had to add cheese to it as well, and remove the lettuce because it was brownish in color, and the 1 tiny tomato had to go since it was bite size, and the worse part of it all was the bottom bun was half bread and the other half was soggy bread so I had to replace their buns with my own bread. Someone was suppose to give me a call back but figured a week or so has gone by I’m probably not hearing back from anyone.

I’ve been to the Burger Bar a few times and have always been impressed. This was my first time ordering the Mc’B burger. I should have gotten the double.

The burger is ordered was not to temp. Not even close. Way over cooked. The fries gave off a “five guys” vibe for fries. The service was good. Our waitress was great and I ordered a domestic beer so it’s a good as it gets. The burger is not worth going back.
