My husband and I decided to try El Jarocho during our weekend getaway to Jamestown because It was walking distance from our hotel. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the queso fundido and the sampler platter, which included a chile relleno, tamale, chalupa, taco, enchilada, and rice and beans. The portions were huge and we could not finish everything. While the quantity was great, the food was bland. I also was expecting to be able to order a margarita, but unfortunately that was not on their menu. They did have a virgin daiquiri, but when I ordered it, the waitress said that they were all out due to a busy St. Patrick’s Day. While the food was not terrible, we would likely not come back.

Yikes, what positives are there? Fruit flies, below average authentic Mexican food. Street tacos are ground beef and shredded chicken. We got scolded for going to the bathroom because she said no public bathrooms despite spending over $40 at their restaurant. Just skip this one. Tv is playing YouTube videos with ads. It’s rough if you ever had good Mexican food.

I guess I’m just used to actual Mexican food. I read all the reviews and decided it was worth a shot. 15 bucks for a California. Burrito that was half the size it should be for that price. Zero flavor, the tortilla was hard from being on the grill and a California burrito has cheese sauce, Anywhere in the country but here!

The music would have been fine but it was loud and tinny. The table was sticky. Food was just ok. The waitress was overworked and rude. She forgot certain things we ordered and then reacted in a hostile way when we asked her not to charge us for it. Won’t be back.
