After trying a number of sushi spots on Oahu, Gaku has come out on top as my absolute favorite. Their nigiri combination is fantastic, and the deluxe is a worthy upgrade. Every nigiri was delightful, and there were no duds in the bunch. Their o toro is the freshest, cleanest, and most melt-in-your mouth that I’ve had in this city. I will absolutely be back here, it’s worth every penny.

The fish here was the best fresh fish I’ve probably Ever had! The environment is super friendly and chill. Everyone here greets you and says bye to you. The chefs are all great. The sashimi we had was great! We had to come here twice because we enjoyed it so much.

This was the best omasake we’ve ever had. The fish was so fresh and straight out of Japan. My husband doesn’t like sushi or sashimi but he enjoyed this experience very much. He said everything tasted amazing and he ate everything. That’s huge for him. Thank you so much to our chef too. He was so wonderful and catered to our likings. We came with our friends and were able to sit together by the bar. The reservation was made a couple weeks prior for the dinner. Highly recommend this. There is a small parking lot in the back that can fit about 6-8 cars. Or plenty of street parking too.

This is an amazing little restaurants. They have lots of options on their menu, izakaya, sushi etc.. and surprisingly each dish is well curated and special in their own way. And even with the various items on their menu, they still manage to make lots of home made stuff life tofu, seasonings, pickles. Each dish is well designed and meticulously prepared. Really top quality restaurant. Strongly recommend!!!

The sushi was pretty good and standard I think. They definitely did not amaze me for the price that you are paying. However their appetizers and small dishes are really. Only thing I didn’t like was the fried chicken! It was bland and didn’t come with any sauce.
