At our Lebanon, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Did an online order and paid with Apple Pay. It stated it would be done at 7:32. I get to the window at 7:50 and they stated it isn’t ready yet, you’ll have to come inside. I asked why I had to come inside and she stated it isn’t ready yet. So I asked once again why I had to come inside and she said either that or pull in a spot. I asked how much longer and she just stated they are working on it. She wasn’t very nice during any of our interaction. Finally got my food at 8:02. 30 minutes after it was suppose to be done and about 45 minutes after it was ordered.

We had lunch at the Lebanon location today, 7/29/23. I have to say the service, and qaulity of this store was terrible. The kid that took our order acted as if we were hindering his time. The condiments were not kept chilled and the food portions for the costs are less than a fair price. The coleslaw was warm and tasted bitter. The iced tea containers did not have lids on them. The fish & fries portions are tiny.

If I could give no stars, I would because that’s how much concern you have for your guests. I understand staffing is at bare minimum but a sign on the door or a better response than “oh well” would have fixed this problem. Of course I changed my mind when I couldn’t go inside to see the cleanliness of the building but I witnessed a elderly couple, who were in a wheelchair try to get in and one of the workers watched. I went up to the couple and told them the inside apparently wasn’t open and their response was “it would have been nice to know before pulling the wheelchair off the back of the truck…again an employee watched this! No more Captain D’s for me because they don’t care about the people who keep their doors open. Ridiculousness!

Was told after I paid that we could not eat in the dining room even though customers were eating there. It was 2 hours before closing. If you’re going to close the dining room let someone know or lock the doors. I can’t help but wonder if it’s because I drive a police car with a back the blue sticker visible. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. At about 15 dollars a plate you’d think me and My wife could have eaten inside especially during dining hours. Food is good but price is high and service is bad.

Haven’t been here in years stopped in for father’s day only to see a sign on the window that says “DRIVE THRU ONLY”. According to my parents this is a common theme at this Captain D’s, seems they can’t keep any help since the pandemic. I looked in and there were people eating in the dining room. We ordered thru the drive thru got home with the food looked at it and not only did they short each box by one piece of fish but they also chopped the fries in half. Literally every French fry was chopped into halves. One individual scoop for each side item.

Like all fast food places, they are short staffed. The cashier was friendly, calm, and helpful despite being short-handed. The manager was great. Remain calm, smile, and be friendly . There’s no sense in being rude. It isn’t their fault.

Every 9 again I will crave Captain D’s I know fried fish it’s not very healthy for you however they do have more in their menu now than they did in previous years so there salmon on the bed of rice is an incredible dish if you’re watching your weight or you just need to eat healthier or you’re eating kosher whatever the reason is it’s an awesome food, the service is incredible there’s two ladies that work there and they are so sweet, always coming around after you get your food and you sit down to make sure that you have everything you need I can’t say a bad thing about this place it’s awesome I love it.

I ordered the seafood feast. It was fresh and delicious. Update- ordered the catfish feast. Very tasty and fresh. Update: I went again today and ordered the fried flounder sandwich and fried catfish. It was delicious.
