This place was truly a hidden gem in the area, The food was excellent. Well prepared and seasoned perfectly. The chef’s choice of fish was perfection. The waiters were kind and helpful, giving us the best advice on what to pick. Nice atmosphere. The restaurant was very clean. Would definitely recommend, for an authentic flavor.

I enjoyed this restaurant in the past, decent sushi and sake. Unfortunately, there’s a small man watching over the staff like like a whip lord of the cotton fields, ready to pounce on anyone or anything not up to his standards. He will take any opportunity to make you feel awkward af. I’ve seen him do it on multiple occasions. So I guess it’s on us for coming back. And now there are SO many rules to ordering during happy hour. Don’t finish your food? Beprepared to be embarrassed and scolded by the tiny manager. Oh you want happy hour sushi but just want water? Oh sorry, you need to order drinks which defeats the purpose of happy hour. While we were there, there were not one, but TWO tables that ordered with water and no tiny waiter manager came to scold them. I really wanted to like this place, but there’s so much stupidity to ordering and receiving food. I’ll find somewhere else where I’m treated like a human being.

There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is modern and dimly lit. The staff was friendly and we went for lunch. They have a happy hour special on select rolls with purchase of a drink.

BOMB! The sashimi was fresh and delicious. We ordered 3 rolls and they were absolutely devine. Bathrooms were clean and everything was fresh. We became very confused about who our waitress/waiter was. We had 5 different people constantly stopping by.

Great service and delicious selections of your typical sushi cuisine. Vegas and California rolls are always going to be safe choices with Miso and Edamame as good starters. Enjoy Sake bombs and your bar selections while you dine at Sushi Cortaro on River.

This place has become of staple of my family’s dining experience in Tucson. Every time I come home to visit, I always make sure we come here at least once. My parents regularly visit even when there aren’t any kids around haha

All around good food. The all you can eat is an excellent value @ $25, potentially the best in town as you can order a huge variety of items. The fish is very tasty and fresh. All the rolls we’ve had here were excellent. Swift and friendly staff with great service!

Food was good. Not bad quality and the food came out pretty quick. Just a warning though, they limit how much tuna (1 order) and salmon (5 orders) you can order for the all you can eat menu, which is already more expensive than other’s in the city. I get it. They’re the most used fish for rolls too, but we were taken by surprised as that hasn’t been the case for other AYCE places we’ve been to. Additionally, I ordered agedashi tofu, which was listed on the menu to come with Bonito flakes and grated Daikin radish. They even had a photo of the topping. What I received, however, was just the fried tofu. When I asked about the toppings, I was told that it doesn’t come with either. When I said the menu didn’t reflect that the server said she had never seen it come with anything before and confirmed the same with another server. When I asked if I could just get them on the side, they admitted that they didn’t know what either were but could get me green onion if I really wanted. Overall, we finished our food but left not overly impressed.
