The service was so amazing! Everyone was so kind and willing to make sure that we enjoyed our experience. Not only was the service good the fooooood was AMAZING!!! Where to start? We had an amazing dinner tonight at Takumi Cuisine. It was our first time and the reviews were spot on! It’s definitely worth 5 stars. Our server was very friendly and helpful. If she suggests it, you should try it! She won’t steer you wrong.

Had the best sushi I’d had in a year tonight at Takumi Cuisine. It just opened, but I hope it’ll be here forever! The owner was so sweet and thank goodness we took her recommendations. The otoro and amberjack were divine. We will definitely be becoming regulars here.

We walked in about an hour and a half before close on a Friday night. A lady sat us down but was not a server and we immediately asked for drinks and the person cleaning tables went and mentioned us to the server. There were about 2 full dirty tables as well as a fully loaded dirty bar when we walked in. We saw all the amazing reviews and pictures of delicious looking food and we’re local so we’d really love a good sushi and ramen spot 5 minutes away, but I have to say we were very disappointed with the experience. We waited about 10 minutes before my girlfriend told us we should bail. It was her birthday so I of course was going to listen to her whim. I told her the reviews were great, they were clearly understaffed, and we should give it at least 15 minutes. There seemed to be no actual waiters and just the owner and someone cleaning tables. We gave 18 minutes before we walked out. I’d really love to give this a try again, but it left a sour taste in my mouth being ignored for almost 20 minutes.. No drinks. No food. Just disappointment.

Came in with a client for lunch for Omakase: Nigiri. If you don’t know what Omakase is, it’s essentially chefs selection of Sushi. You don’t know what’s coming and they serve you one piece of sushi at a time. It’s always very expensive, but a lot of fun. They have theirs at market price and we spent $130 per person. The owner was lovely and when I asked her how much it was, she said “how much are you looking to spend and do you want premium fish, I chose the premium, but I’m sure you could get it for a bit less. You might shriek at that price but that’s not a bad price at all. The omakase table and Mujo, the two top spots in ATL cost around 350 a person. A solid one I went to in NYC was 225 per person. $130 for premium fish and 15 pieces is not bad at all. I was on the company dollar and treating out a top client. He was so impressed and very grateful so this is a great spot to try your first omakase experience.

Favorite new sushi spot in downtown Decatur!!! Fish tastes much fresher than both Sushi Aves (IMO) and is worth the slightly higher prices. Very warm service from Asian aunties and the ginger tea was a perfect addition to the meal. Come check it out for yourself

Takumi in Decatur is amazing sushi. I can say without hesitation that quality of the fish at Takumi is unmatched anywhere in Atlanta. Start with the Addictive Cabbage and if Yuen recommends a special, get it. She won’t steer you wrong.
