Our sophisticated, high energy Italian & Romanian restaurant pays tribute to Jim Durfy, a veteran of the South Florida restaurant scene who opened the original Rainbo Café in 1933.
The Rainbo served as a casino & nightclub during the years following the Prohibition era. The place attracted a well-healed and notorious crowd, said to include Al Capone and his cronies.
The famous café would also write its own chapter in Hollywood’s history by appearing in Martin Scorsese’s thriller “Cape Fear” starring Nick Nolte & Robert DeNiro.

Once in a blue moon, you are fortunate to have an extraordinary experience. Tonight was our night. We’d already had dinner and were showing our friends around Hollywood. As we walked by Villa Romana we heard great live music coming from inside. We stepped inside to hear more and enjoy a drink. Diana advised there was no bartender but we were welcome to sit at the bar or at a table and they would do their best to accommodate us. And so they did! The owner, Tye, was the performer and the guy is good! When he turned on his Louis Armstrong vocals we were blown away! We enjoyed two songs before his evening set was over at 10:00pm, but he wound up singing for us for another 20 minutes. Even though we didn’t dine there, the staff was so kind, welcoming, and accommodating, imagine how great it would be to enjoy a meal plus the entertainment there. Thanks, Tye, Diana, and team for a wonderful and memorable evening. We’ll most definitely be back and will recommend your place to anyone who is looking for a great experience in a beautiful setting!

This is the perfect place to bring family and friends! Love the fancy atmosphere. Servers were prepared to share explanation of their diverse food menu. Loved the NY steak and tiramisu dessert! I recommend this place million times.

The atmosphere and service in this restaurant are great. The food is just ok. I didn’t have any Romanian dishs (whoever had the Romanian kebab – mititei – liked it a lot), but the Italian wasn’t very good and I felt the salmon ravioli had too little slamon in it. The ceaser salad was very good.

The absolute best restaurant on the Hollywood strip! Amazing food, beautiful ambience, great service. The owner is charming and very engaged. He also has unbelievable talent as he serenades his guests with his beautiful voice having the likes of Neil Diamond, Elton John, and Frankie Valli! Even the aroma from the bars smoked drinks just complete and perfect the experience. It’s a must for a romantic evening or to just simply unwind.
