This is a place that is normally delicious. I visited them on Saturday evening, an half an hour before they were closing. I ordered a combination dinner and a nacho to my surprise. The combination was thrown together presentation wasn’t good. The nacho was basically chips and cheese. We actually had ordered beef and chicken on the nachos, and it was barely either of either, about time we got back up there they were closed. We traveled over in a half an hour to get to that restaurant and I was bragging to my husband about how good they were and it was worth the travel. I was highly disappointed and embarrassed. Total waste of money. I ended up having to go to the store and cook my husband nachos after we just wasted our money.

Love this place! My mom actually told me about this place recently and everytime we have been the service and food are both AMAZING! I love me some good Mexican food and this place never upsets! It’s a bit of a small diner but forsure would recommend everyone stops here and try the place out!!

1st time there in probably 30 years and the food is just as Good as I remember! Service was excellent. Refried Beans are the best I’ve ever had. We had beef & cheese Nachos, chunky beef burrito dinner and Chimichanga dinner. We chose rice and beans as sides for both dinners. Don’t let the size of the restaurant fool you, it’s the same after all these years because if it ain’t broke then it don’t need to be fixed!! Plenty of Mexican options closer to home but it’ll be hard for me to not take the 15-20 minute ride for Taco Especial – it really is SPECIAL!!!

The atmosphere is kinda dark and gloomy; the staff was friendly but i dont like that they ask do you want to tip when you are placing an order inside. I ordered the nachos with chicken and the shrimp taco dinner; the nacho chips were soggy and not crisp, if you gonna eat nachos you want them to be crunchy; the taste was good. The shrimp tacos were ok, nothing i would go back for, the beans were ok, not really flavorful the rice was good, it was fluffy and good consistency, overall, i give it a “C” its just average. I wouldnt go back unless i had no other option.

My husband and I have eaten the mini packs for 3 weeks on Saturday…so Saturday taco day and I feel like they are my family who make me delicious food and I love not only the beans but feeling as if I have an extended family who cooks for me.
