The crab cakes were more filler than crab and the fries were just not good. However the atmosphere and service were top notch. The drinks were made with care and perfect. The history of this place is pretty cool.

A lot of history and that has to be respected. Good place to get a drink, accommodating bartenders. A good checkbox location if in the downtown area. I’d visit again to gauge the food offerings. The oyster shots were interesting.

Over salted. We couldn’t finish most things. The original fried oyster is weird and not recommended. The lightly battered was great. The crab cake not much crab and over salted.

LOVE The Original Oyster House, downtown Pittsburgh. Great fish, great oysters, great employees, great historic Pittsburgh bar. Great memories too. Hate the aggressive panhandlers. They intimidate me. Wish the Mayor could help with this problem so we could enjoy The Original Oyster House again. We miss it.

I work around the corner, and this spot is definitely in the lunch rotation. Only reason I left so few stars cause they can’t seem to get an order correct no matter what!! I’d say one out of 8 times they will get my order fully correct. I add cheese and pay for it, and rarely get it. I want cocktail sauce, and I get hot sauce. C’mon man!!

Oh my, what a treat! The seafood is so tasty and fresh. Love the original breaded oysters and the crab cakes are to die for . Huge portions and friendly service. A relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.. if you are in the area, stop in, if you enjoy seafood stop in.. it’s worth the drive..you won’t be disappointed.

A small hole-in-the-wall type place rich with history. The food offerings were what we expected, and priced fairly. We were not disappointed at all. This isn’t a fancy, revolutionary, over the top presentation type of place, it’s a small menu that’s well executed and if you can appreciate that, then you’ll probably really enjoy it. It’s blue collar for sure, in the best ways. The service was friendly and accomodating as well. We liked the spicy vinegar they offered with the spiral cut fries. My only recommendation would be to get rid of the plastic Dixie portion cups, seems like there’s gotta be a better way than the waste of time and product it produces.

We stopped in for oyster shooters and a couple of drinks at the bar and had such a great experience. The history of the restaurant got me and then the staff and owners were so kind and really lovely to talk to. Highly recommend!
