Mediocre food at a very expensive price tag. It’s so loud in there you can’t hold a conversation with your own table without shouting. The portion sizes were so incredibly small that it was laughable.

Outstanding. Everything was delicious. Family style Thai dishes. Innovative cocktails. Great atmosphere – a large open space full of light. Service was excellent. Our server did a great job of helping us figure out how much to order and which dishes to order (while admitting that everything on the menu is good!). This was a totally different experience than any Thai restaurant I’ve been to before. I loved it.

Excellent food in an outrageously cool space. It reminded me of a very nice restaurant in Venice beach but only in the gutters of Philly. The food was so tasty and everything was spicy so definitely be prepared for that. But with great spice comes great flavor. Everything was worth getting especially the pork belly which melted in our mouths and the crab curry so good. Again everything is spicy but very very delicious. Can’t wait to go back. Also the service was fantastic we had about 2 to 3 servers attending our table of 4. Everything was very efficient.

Overpriced for the food quality, presentation, and portion size. Food feels like it could have been served at a street stall for the most part.

Once you taste Thai food like this, you’ll never be able to do your local takeout again. Sensational chicken dumplings as well as tenderloin stir fry. Never had a dessert in our lives like we did with the shaved ice housing Thai iced tea and banana cream. Would not do the crab dish again – flavor was not a winner and yet despite that our night overall was a meal we’ll talk about until our next time there.

Excellent all around. Phenomenal food, unique cocktails and incredible atmosphere. Our group of 6 made an reservation for 5 on Sunday. We booked a few weeks in advance but the place was packed the night of. Our server did a fantastic job with portion suggestions from appetizers to deserts. Highly recommend the shaw muang dumplings and the gaeng gai khao mun. The food was so unlike any other Thai restaurant I’ve tried.

Kalaya has one of the more delicious menus and great experiences that Philly restaurants have to offer. Their crispy duck salad is spicy and delicious. Crab curry and any of their dumplings should be an auto order.

Amazing Thai food, best I’ve ever had. The service was amazing, extremely attentive and nice service. The chef stopped by at some point and we asked to have more food haha. Have to recommend the Pu Pad Pong Karee (I’m personally not that good at spice and this wasn’t much spicy at all) and save room for the shaved ice dessert at the end. The flavored shots were also really good and I sipped on those on the rocks (the scotch one has sugar and helps fight the spice).

As good as it gets. We had 10 people here and darn near ordered 1 of everything to share. Can’t say everyone was very familiar with what was on the menu but everything hit. Look at that cute little dumpling! Fun drink menu too.

One word WOW! The food was amazing. I ordered the blue flower dumplings, crab curry, duck salad, hanger steak, and a side of braised pork. The dumplings were a burst of flavor my favorite from the menu. The crab curry was so delicious sweet tangy and spicy. There’s also huge chunks of real fresh crab meat in the curry which i loved! The duck salad was okay imo i was expecting the duck to be whole instead of grounded but that was my mistake as it was specified on the menu. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce it came with was perfection. Lastly you can not go wrong with the braised pork, paired perfectly with the rice. The waiter was attentive and helpful in deciding which dishes we ordered and the owner i am assuming was so cute as she was walking around. The only thing was that the restaurant is kind of loud but that is to be expected as it was extremely busy.
