In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Tried Dave’s for the first time today and it is really good. I ordered a ‘#3 in “Hot” and it’s pretty spicy but still tolerable. The chicken is tender and juicy and the spices do include some sweetness to it (but not overpowering). The fries are also seasoned well and delicious, as well as the side sauce. The one weird thing is the random piece of white bread. Like it’s not Texas toast style like you’d find at other chicken places, just a plain piece overall it’s 5 stars for location and food and for service, Louis was very friendly and attentive. The inside has a maximum capacity of 48, so it is a little snug but very colorful!

Fun place rock music and chickens being abducted by aliens on the wall. This place is so much better then cains. You don’t need sauce for flavor at Dave’s the chicken is bomb. Got an extreme hot, medium hot, and no heat. All 3 have great flavor the extreme wasn’t very extreme i can’t wait to go back and try the reaper.

Ordered #2 in Mild, the chicken was okay I feel like i needed more flavor. The Mac n cheese I was very sad about me and my mom agreed it had no taste. When we went it was empty maybe 3 cars and drive thru and one person waiting on their order. We ordered right away but then I was confused why it took 25 mins to get our food if it was so empty.

The atmosphere is everything, graffiti art throughout. There are different levels of spice you can choose for your tenders from no spice at all to reaper. The pickles, fries and slaw were salty which wasn’t bad because I really like salty/spicy dishes, if you’re on a low sodium diet this is probably not the best choice. Very clean inside including restrooms (3) which are all gender neutral. Staff was friendly and very attentive. Self serve soda fountain.

Food’s not bad, but the chicken lacks flavor, and for the price I expected more. I got the extra hot spiciness level the the Dave’s #2 combo. The bun wasn’t bad, and the pickles were delicious. The spicy Mayo sauce didn’t have that zing, I think Popeyes has this place beat on price and taste for the fried chicken sandwich. Fries were more flavorful than the chicken. The milkshake wasn’t very thick- In and Out has a better shake for a better price. Service was fast, even though they forgot about my shake. I’ll definitely be open to trying this place again in a few months after they shake off the opening week fumbles.

HUGE portions and Taste Better than angry chickz, hot stuff, Popeyes, KFC, raising canes. This restaurant is the only one outside of L.A. The quality is L.A level food. Highly recommend this place, I will be returning for more!

First time trying it and Addy at the front was SO helpful! I ordered the meal w/1 slider and fries. The slider is more of a regular sized burger and the HOT level was spicy, but not too crazy. She brought my food outside to me and was so nice when I asked for ketchup and honey too! I work close so I’ll definitely be back!
