This was our 3rd visit to Rockwell’s. We have always enjoyed the atmosphere and service until tonight. We were celebrating my birthday and unfortunately this will be our last visit. Very disappointed with service which is number one in such a high end establishment. My husband had to ask for refills every time we did see our waitress Tabitha. After we ordered appetizers (which were the only good things we consumed) we had to ask another waitress to find our waitress and she finally came over after 10 minutes of waiting so we could order dinner. My filet lacked flavor and the presentation was less than desirable. It’s unfortunate that the service industry has gotten so bad! You receive a $200 dinner bill and they expect you to pay for subpar service. We should have just stuck with appetizers and headed to Mancy’s!

Dine at Rockwells off and on over the years. In the past always a 4 or 5 star experience. Had not been in a while, and was very disappointed with my latest experience. Worst was the atmosphere. The restaurant was not very crowded, maybe only 3 table, however one diner had his phone on speaker virtually the whole dinner, and the entire restaurant had to endure both sides of the conversation, with a very loud speaker, and the restaurant staff did nothing. Our server was very nice, but did not seem to know anything about the dishes. When we asked questions, she basically just repeated what was on the menu. When the food came out, she had no idea who ordered what. Now, in a casual restaurant, this is all fine, however at $100 per person, this is just not acceptable. Finally the food was not up to par on what we have had in the past. Steaks used to be to die for. Steaks were not cooked to correct temps, and just average on the taste. Again, considering the price, this is a problem. I am hoping to dine there again, however until we start hearing some positive comments from friends, we will not be back. I do hope they can get back to where they were in service and quality.

Rockwell’s was a fine dining experience set against a rustic historical district backdrop. Upon arrival I was greeted by Dawn who was warm and was also my server. She immediately got us drinks and bread, and described her favorite item on the menu. When I requested hot tea I was given several choices. My companion had the lobster tail from the a la carte section, while I had the handheld burger. The Wagyu beef was so succulent and flavorful, I savored the first bite for a long time. We both chose baked potatoes as sides. They were generous in size. I had a slice of New York cheesecake for dessert, which was the perfect combination of creamy and sweet. I highly recommend Rockwell’s. It’s just a hop skip and jump from the train station, go to the second floor of the building. There are also private dining areas inside.

Just came here for our 6th visit ever. It was my oldest daughters 20th birthday and I wanted to spoil her. We are not wealthy but we do well enough to enjoy a fine meal on occasion. We recommended the Wagu Strip to my daughter who has never had a steak of its caliber. She, her friend and my wife all picked the Wagu bone in strip. The flavor was pungent on all three and all three were too tough to chew. I spent time deciding if I wanted to mention this to the waitress, because my wife is a restaurant manager and part owner and we hate people who complain with no reason. But at the end of the day, 3 at my table ate 3 bites of their $69 steaks and stopped trying. It was evident that none of them were impressed or even able to eat them. Upon bringing the issues to our waitresses attention she simply said that aged steaks have a blue cheese flavor. I am aware of this…we visit 5 star restaurants a few times a year. She made no attempt to explain why it was too tough to chew. My ribeye on the other hand was on point, and I shared it with the three of them so they could have som e good meat. Outside of that, service was great, drinks were top notch, appetizers and desserts were top notch. Unfortunately if I spend 3 days wages to take my daughter for a high end dinner I expect her food to be edible. She thanked me for dinner and asked if we could go to Longhorn Steakhouse next year instead. $500 check and a $120 tip for $100 in great drinks and $50 in great desserts paired with steaks that will not be wasted because we will give them to the dogs when we get home. Not feeling like it was worthwhile. We will probably come back next year because as soon to be part owners in a restaurant we believe in giving one more chance after a failed experience, but I doubt we will hurry back.

Hadn’t been in a while and decided to treat ourselves. But friends said their recent experience was poor. We gave it a try anyway. Drinks were delicious but underpoured. $11 cocktail should go to the top. Server recommended the soup (chicken and rice) which i added last minute. But the soup never came and by the time the meal arrived it was too late. Dry aged Wagyu had great flavor but the texture was unacceptably chewy. I can get a better $70 steak at a lot of places.

Celebrated our anniversary here. The ambiance was great. Nice, quiet romantic evening. Crab cakes were delicious. Steaks were amazing. Family style sides were a nice touch. We enjoyed the Yukon gold mashed potatoes and shaved Brussels. Everything was really yummy and service was unbeatable. Never had to wait or ask for a refill. Steaks came out sizzling hot and cooked perfectly.

What a great place to eat! The staff was fantastic, you rarely had to ask for anything if your drinks were low you did not have to ask for one as they were already on it bringing it out. Food was great, a little pricey, but at times you just have to treat yourself to something nice.

The filet was cooked a perfect medium and was very tasty, although I’m not sure if the small 8 oz filet is worth 48 dollars. The sides were okay, more on the bland side. The Brussels sprouts were very good but the mashed potatoes couldn’t compete with ones I’ve had at Longhorn or Outback. The manager stopped at our table to make sure everything was cooked well which is always a good sign for the restaurant. Great atmosphere and I think it’s still worth a try if you have the money and are looking for a steak outside of the chain restaurants

The restaurant has old world charm. The food selection is top shelf. I ordered the Lamb and the Duck frites. Absolutely delicious!. Our server was professional, knowledgeable and fun. Shari loves her job and made my dining experience wonderful. We were told that Shari is the best and I agree. I will visit again, the next time I come to Toledo.
