The smell of an old building hits you as soon when you enter the building. The restaurant has not been updated in ages it may have been a poppin place in its hey day but now lacks there of. My lunch was brought out and my steak was tough and it was barely warm giving me the sense that is has been sitting and just barely reheated. Definitely will not be returning. Staff was friendly.

Our chef was very warm & friendly, gave a great performance all while making phenomenal food. I ordered lobster tail with my hibachi and honestly expected to be disappointed with over cooked tail but so amazingly surprised with amazing cooking technique and recieved perfect lobster. The place is a little dated, but the food was fresh and tasted excellent. My party had shrimp, calamari, and chicken, and all tasted amazing. Our chef was really entertaining, and I could also hear the laughs coming from other tables during their show as well. The wait staff was ever present, and drink refills were always close at hand. We’ll definitely be headed back there. The top-notch waitstaff, chefs, and reasonable prices made up for the outdated decor. I also had some sushi and am an avid sushi eater. Their sasshi was fresh as was another roll we had. I recommend it all.

I ordered take out for my Birthday lunch. For my daughter’s and I. It was the Hibachi steak and scallops. Nothing was cooked on the Hibachi. The veggies combo was disgusting and no soup or salad was in the sacks. My daughter had to go back and get the soup and salads and veggies cooked on the Hibachi. Their food is usually delicious. Just don’t order pick up or if you do double check. The man who answered the phone when I called wanted to wait until 5:00 when the owner comes in. I explained this was for lunch and 5:00 is too late. SUPER disappointed

This place was great! Hubby and I went there for the AYCE menu. Being from Vegas, we didnt realize the AYCE rolls only applied to certain ones. Waiter was super helpful in explaining everything and we decided it would be better to order by the roll. We ended up going in at 9pm and even though they closed at 10pm we didnt feel rushed or anything. The staff was great, food was delicious and service was amazing! We will definitely be going back soon!

Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. Very nice people. Staff was great. Waitress was great. The food just wasn’t what I thought it would be. Seen that place packed for well over 20 yrs. So I was excited to try it. Atmosphere was just kinda dated. And food was average. I had the coconut shrimp roll. It was bland. But, they still pull in the crowd. Maybe it was just what I ordered . Or, it was an off night ?

Have been eating at Sumo for years but hadn’t visited in awhile. We sat at the sushi bar and went early. First there were restaurant supplies piled up at the end of the bar, not the ambience you’re looking for. One of the sushi chefs was wearing headphones almost the entire time we were there. Part of the experience is chatting with the chefs. Not possible in this case. Our waitress moved about like she was in slow motion. Did not take away dirty dishes, bare minimum response. Sushi pieces are much smaller than previous visits; flavor was meh. Frankly quality of fish didn’t seem up to par. Young kids sitting at bar being loud who were questionably not old enough to drink. Whole experience was disappointing. Owners need to put some money into this place. It’s showing its age and looking lackluster. We will not be returning.
