Great place with some outstanding unique cocktails to offer. Stopped in for a breather from some holiday shopping and the bartender (wish I would’ve remembered her name) was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive! They share a kitchen with Brio Tuscan Grill, so I think their menu may be bigger than what’s offered. That said, the cocktails, the craft brews, attentive staff, and a great quality of food…if highly recommend stopping in.

For a Saturday night at 9:30, this place should be more happening and on their game. The Tv sound was on for soccer and then they changed it for basketball… but the patrons weren’t there for either. We ordered the first item on the menu “rosemary kettle corn” and received some sort of burnt popcorn with none of the ingredients listed on the menu (I.e. oregano instead of rosemary.. no reggiano and no chili flakes). When we asked the waiter about it, he had no idea the ingredients or the menu item. He said he’d have the kitchen being is a replacement. Never happened. As we were sitting at the bar, we had sub-par service, to say the least. He only visited us when we made eye contact and pointed to what we wanted. No music. No service. Not good food.

I have never been so embarrassed to take my friends to a restaurant. I went with a group of 12 and if it weren’t for the kindness and friendliness of our waiter Shane, I wouldn’t have given a tip at all and walked out. We were seated at a table for 2 hours and 3 people still didn’t get their food. Apparently, there were only 2 waiters for the whole bar and the other waiter (not Shane) was poaching his orders and giving our food to other tables. I don’t blame Shane, but I blame the management of the bar for allowing this kind of service to exist. I normally try to be very positive with my reviews, but this place is horrible.

Place was just decent. Saturday night, only 4 people at the bar. Service for drinks was slow. Order popcorn at the same time, had to remind tender about it. Order wasn’t made correctly. That’s right, kettle corn not made correctly. They used basil instead of rosemary even though the item is called Rosemary Kettle Corn. Server thought reggiano was the herb, we told him it was the cheese that was missing. He went back to correct, sent us a new order. Waited 40 minutes, order never came. We left.

What a great place! We only went for a quick drink, but it was still a great enough of an experience to merit a review. We sat right by the fence and watched the kids play in the fountain. Bar Del Mar had local beers including my favorite, Taft’s Gavel Banger. The service was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. We want to go back for a meal soon. For interested parties, you can also hit two Pokestops. 😉
